In search of Yellow and Chocolate Jolokia and Trinidad Scorpion

I am not lying.

THIS IS THE LIST OF WHAT I GREW LAST YEAR:
orange habaneros
Naga Jolokia
Cayenne
Jalapeno
Tabasco
Black pearl
Large red cherry
Bell peppers various colors
Sweet Banannas

As you can clearly tell, everything there is pretty much all extremely common. So no i have not had the pleasure of growing yellow, Chocolate Jolokias yet, or trinidad Scorpions, of 7 pots, red, white, chocolate habaneros, Pimiento, Serrano Chili, Anahein, purple Jalapeno, Fatalii, Pepperoncini, Cubanelle, Pequin, Thai Hot, NuMex Big Jim, Tepin, Caribbean Red Hot, Hugarian Hot Wax. Which are on my list to try this year.

In regards to my listing (you have way to much time on your hands if the best thing you have to do is pull that up), I had a 9 out of 10 seeds come up last time i looked, for all i know the last one could have come up, its been weeks since i was home. The cayennes i dried actually out germanted the commercal seeds i got (dont remember the exact numbers). So YES I WOULD SAY that is pretty good luck.

And yes as you may have already noticed I am a bit insulted, I try my best to honestly represent what I am selling on ebay and from my Feedback score you should be able to tell that I do a pretty good job of it (go ahead look it up, need a link?). I came here as a fellow hot pepper grower looking for some seeds and advice, not looking to take advance of people or insult them.

I have read hours about pepper online and am fairly familar with a lot of them. I just haven't had the plesure of growing them yet.
which to me says you have not grown any peppers, that is the only reason I asked why you made a different claim on ebay, and no I didnt need a lot of time on my hands to take 2secs to pull you up on ebay, which I did by the way because I was interested to see what you had for sale because I was thinking of maybe trading with you, so it wasnt done to get on your case.

Lately guys I have been seeing a slam fest on the newbies. Why? We were all there once and some are pushier then others. When he says he read about peppers and hasn't had the pleasure of growing them he could have been referring to the ones he was asking for. Im sorry but out of all the people that have had their case jumped some of them had to have had a bad experience with THP and some probably didn't come back because of it. If you don't want to give him seeds just don't say anything why pick them apart piece by piece. Sorry guys you might disagree but I just don't understand it.

I'm not a big fan of this jump on the new guy stuff myself and am going to echo Kyles words. If you don't have seeds for the person looking for some, or can't recommend where they can get some then why post?

I'm also not a fan of newbies coming here, bumming seeds and then doing the Houdini act--disappearing. Thing is how do we know if the person is staying or going? We don't. So I'm going to have folks send me SASE for their seeds. No money coming out of my pocket. So far this year I've spent almost $50 on postage to send seeds to folks. As far as the seeds go if I give you some you can do what ever you want with them. They are a gift.

Got to run. Didn't mean to piss anyone off.

My problem is with the two recent members who joined asking for seeds that are known resellers on ebay. That is all. New members are always welcome, please stay and share your growing knowledge with all of us, maybe learn from us but dont try to take advantage of us.

I'm pretty new here too but totally agree with that.

Yes mill you are correct that is why i mentioned in there don't give them seeds if you don't want to. We shouldn't find everything wrong with them and make them feel they need to leave the forum. I have seen people get on lots of peoples case's about seeds. Welcome to the forum halo!

+4, Exactly.
And I'll always give E-Bay(or other) resellers a hard time when they come looking for rare seeds whether they're newbies or not

hmmm i guess i'm one of the few that think like this. I'm sorry I didn't know that you can't sell seeds and be on THP at the same time. just don't give him the seeds why chew him out. I wish there was a way of knowing how many people have been chased off the forum. Like Patrick said, how is he a reseller? If he sells good seeds then why should we slam him?

I have no problem with newbies...we all were at one time but like any site you find yourself on, it's best to stop and get to know the people before asking for trades. Too many before you have asked for seeds then poof never to be seen again. Just have patience, stop and meet all the nice people who are definitely great and generous with seeds and knowledge. Just don't pop up one day and ask for the most exotic seeds around. You know good things come to those who wait!!! That's JMO

Re-sellers are people who sell seeds without growing them or knowing anything about them, usually after mooching the seeds from people like us. Its usually very easy to spot these people, they usually are newbies asking for tonnes of rare seeds and/or hyping their "New hottest pepper"
I have no problem with most newbies but I'm suspicious when they want hundreds of the rarest seeds, and they have an e-bay store or when I get PM's from people with no posts. I've sent out tonnes of seeds over the years, but I rarely send anything to newbies anymore since more times then not they just dissapear, or sell/trade the seeds:( If newbies spend some time in the community, I'm always happy to help out with seeds and knowledge.
Sorry to de-rail your thread Halo-player, this wasn't about you.

Having been on this forum now for about a year, and having done trades with several of you and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, I can understand the feelings expressed by those who are not trustful of some posts and some forum members who join simply to take advantage of people who are eager to share their seeds without being too worried making a profit out of it (in other words, out of the bonding and friendships developed by being a part of the forum).

That's just plain not nice. :shame:

However, I think halo_players_junkyard might have been referring (correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems more and more to be the case when I read the thread entry) that he hadn't grown that particular variety.

He just wrote it in a way that could have very, VERY easily (as it has now been proven) been misinterpreted to mean he'd never grown a single pepper in his life.

And I would be tempted to say his Naga Jolokias are the PC1's, though it is definitely better if halo clarifies this.

BTW, welcome to the forum, Halo.
