In search of Yellow and Chocolate Jolokia and Trinidad Scorpion

And I would be tempted to say his Naga Jolokias are the PC1's, though it is definitely better if halo clarifies this.

Seems like that, this listing says "This listing is for ten (10) Naga Jolokia (PC-1)..." although this one claims that the Naga Jolokia is the world's hottest pepper. I guess that the buyer is in for a not so pleasant surprise, hopefully because of a misunderstanding by halo_players_junkyard. Too bad though - he should know better if he did indeed grow them himself as he claims in post #21.

It is frustrating to give someone seeds and then see them for sell someplace. Very frustrating.

Good tips on spotting resellers POTAWIE thanks. One way to keep chances low of seeing your seeds being sold is to be stingy with them. When I trade or give away seeds if I know the person has been around here for a while I'm usually pretty generous depending upon the number of seeds I have. When it's a newbie the number of seeds per species goes down, usually to three.

You can also ask the person what their intentions are. If they say one thing and do another to make a profit then that individual will never see another seed of mine. If I were to ever see that person looking for seeds again I'm going to insure that anyone who reads his thread knows what type of person they really are.

hmmm i guess i'm one of the few that think like this. I'm sorry I didn't know that you can't sell seeds and be on THP at the same time. just don't give him the seeds why chew him out. I wish there was a way of knowing how many people have been chased off the forum. Like Patrick said, how is he a reseller? If he sells good seeds then why should we slam him?

Yes I agree with kylestl. Just because you sell seeds doesn't mean that you shouldn't be able to discuss chillies/sauce/food/growing with everyone else. I understand that you say you are worried that people are going to resell them. Obviously you don't want to do all the hard work of growing and collecting and then someone else makes a profit on them. But most people trade 10 seeds and under anyway so it's not like you can go and sell 10 seeds and become rich, you need to grow them first and then that way you have put in all the hardwork, effort, time and growing costs instead of someone else.

I don't think that just because you are a seller that you must know about every single variety and everything about them, so it is good to discuss things on here and learn new techniques or better ways of doing things etc. I have met a lot of friendly people on here ( a couple I have actually met and become friends with them) and it is a good place to be most of the time.

I do feel that people are jumping on the newbies or if someone just wants to discuss something out of the ordinary. I don't think anyone likes being "attacked" and it actually makes me stop and think everytime before I post something in case someone is going to want to give me an earful. I'm not sure if I even really want to post this!
So be skeptical of people but then just don't post to them until you have seen them around for ahile and get a feeling of what they are like. Treat people how you would like to be treated. If you have a question for them say it in a nice way.

halo? where u go?
ive got some homegrown Fatalii seed send a sasbe and u will gave your seed.

you should aLSO show your grow log too soo people can see that in fact you are a grower, And when i see that someone is actually growing them and eating them i would send ya whatever varieties you would like you know what i'm saying?

Here is what I have up so far. I do have a couple more varieties started, but pictures of dirt arn't very interesting. They are a little straggly, This is the second year on these Florescent bulbs, I think i might need new ones, any thoughts?

The Habs just starting to pop up.

Get your lights down right on top of the plants. Looks like you got a decent start. Is your chocolate hab on the bottom left dead or does it need some help?

There are only about 6 inches above the soil right now, looks a little higher in the pic because I moved the light out of the way.

That little Chocolate hab just came up today, tomorrow he will probably look much healthier. (the camera isn't doing the little fella much justice.)

If you can, put the light on top of the plants. Touch the top of the plants if you need to but fluros should be about an inch away from the plants. Great looking starts you got there.

Thanks. See, I am not against trying to lower them more, but the lower you go the more lights you need to cover the same area. And last year that 5-6 inch area seemed to be the sweet spot to get the whole flat covered by one light and none of them looked straggly, thats why i was wondering about how much the bulbs dulled over time. I'll give it a shot. Nothing else I need a couple more bulbs anyways, maybe I'll do a little test between the new and the old.

(What a great use for a pool table, right?)

Lately guys I have been seeing a slam fest on the newbies. Why? We were all there once and some are pushier then others. When he says he read about peppers and hasn't had the pleasure of growing them he could have been referring to the ones he was asking for. Im sorry but out of all the people that have had their case jumped some of them had to have had a bad experience with THP and some probably didn't come back because of it. If you don't want to give him seeds just don't say anything why pick them apart piece by piece. Sorry guys you might disagree but I just don't understand it.

I'm with Kyle on this.

Even having been here for a number of months, I cringe for some of these new members and I'm sick of reading threads like this, to be honest...

IMHO, when people join this and similar forums, they simply don't KNOW the etiquette of posting, and oftimes just get carried away with the excitement they pick up from some of our enthusiastic threads. Thus, it might be naivete driving their requests for seed, rather than greed.
