Is that what I think it is ?

What's with you and the blue angels? Very cool video.

I'm also a pilot, love to fly, however starting a new food busines sucks the life out of you, only not as bad as a bad wife. I also love the sound of world war II aircraft. the engine and the prop cutting the wind is an awesome sound, Take note

Nope, that's definitely a pepper..I've seen them before.

Cool video! I'd love to get into flying one day but I'll probably wind up stuck in the surface community. Who knows..

I had a ride in a jet fighter a few years ago F-18....

It was the best fun and i managed to keep my lunch down.....for a few minutes:sick:

We were up in the air for about 35 minutes, and at one stage i stupidly said to the pilot that it was a walk in the park...He just laughed and said "i'll have you sick in 30 seconds".....

Well it only took 20:lol: and i was reaching for the bag....

I paid for the ride at a charity aution and i would do it again...Best fun:cool:

I won't fly in them nor do I want to...I would hurt for 2 months after a flight...hell, I even hate to fly commercial...I kinda feel like I am pressing my luck I have flown so much in the past...

The F-16s at the plant start practicing their airshow routines about 2 weeks before a big airshow...there are two manuevers I really like...the low altitude 9G turn they do where he turns a comlete circle parallel with the ground and never leaves the area of the runway and the "tail walk"...high angle of attack low speed pass...forward speed is about 50 MPH and the only way to get out of that is full afterburner going vertical....and they continue vertical until out of sight....takes about 60 seconds...

I am now green with envy! I got second best though, i used to date the daughter of Williamtowns f-18 Squadron Leader!!!

Nice vid...that poor bird at the beginning bit it hardcore though..;)

Good thing it didn't get sucked into the intake at that speed and height..yikes.

Here's one of me from way back. I didn't fly for the Air Force but my boss did so he arranged for me to get a ride. The aircraft is an F-4. I'm happy to say I didn't lose my breakfast, didn't eat one, but I did lose my hearing for a couple of days.

I had a head cold and didn't say anything about it, didn't want to miss this opportunity, and when we pulled zero G's all of the mucus in my nasal passages came running out of my ears. That was not cool. Took a couple of days to clear up, very nasty experience. We did loops, barrel rolls, pulled 4 G's--I couldn't lift my arm off of the armrest it was so heavy, and hit mach 1 plus.

thats not you, thats Alec Baldwin. F4 was a cool plane, it was being phased out when I was in the AF, I didn't get my pilot license until I got out . I was a crew chief on C141b which has been replaced by the C-17

the F-4 was McDonnell Douglas' testament that if you give a piece of lead enough power it will fly....

Its give a brick enough power AJ, I always did love the body lines of that jet, she was a real smoker though.

yup but it was a maintainers nightmare...as I recall, it seems like it took over 50 man-hours of maintenance for every flight hour it was in the air...(MMH/FH)

You another blue suiter Dick?

AJ sounds like you've spent some time in a uniform in your day too.

That was me 24 years ago. Holy cow! I miss the hair. :(

Yes sir, went to tech scule in Texas, Sheppard AFB 1n 1982 , AJ builds them. Your last name wouldn't happen to be Reilly or O'Reilly.

yes sir, was in the navy as a corpsman from 69-73 but got out and work on fighter aircraft design teams...I have historical field data from back in the late 50's to current day...my job is to work with the designers to insure the bird is maintainable and readily available for sortie generation...most of the designers will tell you I am a pain in the ass because I evaluate their designs with a critical eye towards access....
