Nice stretch marks. Good luck with the sauce ad let us know when theres a sample to be tasted. I didn't grow any jals. But sure glad some of my NOTs turned out to be jals. Keep it up. Wish I could buy a smoker. Maybe next year

Nothing special today, 2 bins of mainly super hots and a few types of Hab/Scotch varieties. I did not pick any white habs, Thai, Japs or a few others. Those would fill a few bins as well but I am waiting for as many Jalapenos to turn red as possible.

I hear ya on the waiting game... I gave up on waiting for the Jals to ripen up on my two plants and bought them at a local farmstand to make smoked Jal sauce.
On a related note... My Jals are dropping their leaves now that nights are dropping down into upper thirties, so I decided to pick them all and got a solid peck of jumbos. Made poppers tonight with the dozen largest and stirred some of your smoked Black Jal powder and roasted garlic into the cream cheese.

Great looking Jals! Love that black one.
Thanks, I am going to go pick 3 in a few, black, early and giant and see if I can stuff them in each other. I think that would make an amazing visual appetizer!

OK, tried it out to see if it would work and I cannot wait to have these on a party menu!

Nice!

That is looking like the start to something wonderful! I forget, did you try the powder solo?
Hi Chris
Did you mean, like, without anything else?... Hmm... I just dipped up some on the end of my finger to try it... I taste the smoke and a hint of bitterness... Mild burn... mostly on the back of my tongue though I put it on the middle. Is that what you meant?
Nice looking visual on that triple-threat appetizer. Let us know how it goes over at your next party.
