food Make your best taco.

it`s actually grey plastic and almost looks like stainless steel in the pic. it is a small trash catcher that you hang on the drawer in front of your cutting board and when you have stuff like onion peel or carrot tops or whatever scraps you have on the cutting board it gives you a place to just sweep it off the cutting board and into the container. our trash bin is on the other side of the kitchen and this saves time and footsteps.

I am more concerned about the towels behind the kettle. Looks like a fire waiting to happen.
  i knew that would draw a comment from someone when i posted it. my wife drapes a dish towel on the back control panel anytime something that spatters is being cooked on the front burners. we also use a screen pan cover with handle to minimize spattering. when using the back burners the towel comes off. it really minimizes cleanup when we`re done cooking.

I have one of those trash can drawers that is directly under the cutting board cabinet. If you ever redo your kitchen keep that in mind. You may not think of it at the time but man, so handy. Pull open trash... push it in, close. I actually just keep it open when cooking.

Cool idea. Even potentially a product idea.

There is a non toxic spray you can put on cloth that makes it pretty much flameproof . Have seen it resist torch flame on cotton.

Attach a couple magnets and you have an infomercial product.
i never thought of that.

A hard surface cover that is dishwasher safe would also work .

Definitely making my own version to cut down on clean up. Thank your wife for the inspiration.
ok total thread derail here.  i saw an item on Amazon a while back and thought it was a fantastic idea. it was a silicone liner to fit under your grates and around the burners that is dishwasher safe. it was touted as laser measured and cut and you had to supply the exact model number of the oven to get the custom fit. it fit great but there was one slight problem with it. it wasn`t silicone!!! whatever it was made of warped and rippled and not being sure what it was made of my wife nixed it. nice oven but a biatch to keep the stovetop clean. 5 burners with 4 different sizes. it also came with a custom fit griddle. i think THP`s wok ring and burner is killer and wish this had it.

I made some Thai tonight maybe I'll post it elsewhere.

FYI the wok burner is part of my stove, this stove is easy to clean tho. The ring just pops off and the burners are all sealed.

Pepper bacon taco

Been traveling this week. No food options really. Got home to an empty house n decided to make something greasy n good. Thought that I had some spam in the camping container, but sadly, no. But, earlier in the day I stopped at a primo butcher n got pepper bacon, sliced 2x thick. So, bacon taco it was.

First some rice for a side and a bit of filler. Brown rice from the great state of TX. Pinto beans. Salsa. Onion. An habinero elk sausage chunked up. And look, an aji Amarillo that just ripened. Throw it all into the pressure cooker for 15 min. Go mow the lawn.

Prep the main. Pepper Bacon -mmmmmmmmm. Colby jack chez. Tillamook sour cream. Guac salsa - not a huge guac fan, but this stuff rocks. My fermented monzano hot sauce. And flour tortiller. No greens, as the fridge was a bit bare when I arrived home, but calories were needed after my week, so filler not needed.

Slap it all together, add a bit more hot sauce. Spicy, salty, peppery, cheezy, bacony. Easy. Delish.
