My obsession with heat and food...JoynersHotPeppers

I have been a long time lurker and finally joined. I figured I'd start posting some of the things I cook or make with the peppers I grow.

First up

This is a Thai Cucumber salad I make with a rare Japanese cucumber I grow, peppers and cilantro are mine as well. I'll take better pictures with the next batch. I have enough stuff right now to do about 10 more 32oz jars.

Twins, both rubbed down with 2 different rubs and contain my 15 pepper blend.

Lobster roll with previous nights lobster leftovers. Contains one of my pepper blends.

Homemade lump crab cakes with black bean corn salsa I threw together. Cake have my tri-thai blend and 15 blend in the salsa.

I'll be using some corn chips, might pick some up from the local Mexican joint that makes all theirs daily. Many moons ago I spent 3 months in Panama and Costa Rica surfing and camping, we used to snorkel for conch, put a hook with string in them and hang them from the tree. This would pull them out of the shell. From the same tree we would pick a few dozen limes and make ceviche on the spot...so freaking good and for dessert we would steal a pineapple from the field next door.

Similar story here when I spent a week on the east cape of Mexico with the local catch and making ceviche and fresh sashimi with the yellowfins.

Of course i checked that. Just saying that it was a shame he wasn't in, as PIC, Husker and Jay. Still the most epic td i've been in btw.

Yeah if I didn't have a busy weekend I would have entered. Of course I also would not have used my iPhone and done it during the day with natural light and a real camera There were some awesome entries for sure.

Thanks for the thought Essegi, but I am way too busy with the restaurant to compete in throwdowns right now.  I would have loved to have been in this one, but even if I could have, I don't know that I could have won anything with all the awesomeness I saw.  Now Chris on the otherhand...  I have been watching you my friend and you have been eating way too much good stuff lately!  BTW, I am heading your way in ten days.  Maybe we can meet up one day while I am down.
