naga's and sevina's

hi everyone,

quick question...

I live in Toronto and i have been growing a few Naga's and Red Savina's.... i'm not sure if this is normal so i need some explanations to this please...

they just started to flower one-two weeks ago... is this late ? i keep hearing and seeing people harvesting fruit already for the second time this season... why dont i have any pods yet ?

It depends on when you started and your climate among some other things... Don't worry, your plant will do fine. Chinense varieties take a little more time then others!

excellent.. they look really good though..very healthy.. very green.... and flowers everywhere..lol

just no fruit.... i think i am a little anxious as this is my first time growing them...weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !

thanks mate..

I sprouted mine in January and put them outside in May. Just getting my first ripe pods now.

I'm a few hundred miles south of you.

Given the average time between flower and ripe pod (been about 6 weeks for me) you may only get one batch of pods before its too cold unless you can bring them indoors.

That sounds right. You've still got almost 2 months of waiting before you get ripe pods :(

anyone want to trade seeds once i get some pods ? i want to extend my varieties..

I'm always open for a seed trade. Feel free to send me your wish list, too. I have plenty of varieties. Check the link in my signature to see what I am growing this season.

I go out a few times a day to look at my plants too. Obviously they look the same as they did earlier in the day:lol:. However, there was a flower on my Naga Morrich that wasn't open yet. When I went out just a little bit ago it's already open..........WHOOOHOOOO........My first Naga Flower that looks like it'll turn into a pepper!!:hell::onfire: My white hab is also going completely sicko on buds as well. I literally stopped trying to count them and it's got dinky fruit on it. Also, I found out Purira's produce pods at an ALARMING rate..lol!! I just have to wait for some ripe ones.

i lived in the mountains about 40 km east of Rome in Italy, and one of my happier memories was picking a wide range of wild mushrooms with a couple of young guys from the village... we made a simple pasta dish with the wild sauteed muushrooms... it was fantastic.. a little parmasene cheese, some ripe tomatoes, figs, and a glass of red wine...

i wish i could pick some around here somewhere....the city, yuk !

Yeah, the mushrooms you find in Toronto don't go well with parmesan cheese; however, I believe we had 'em on pizza once... don't remember the rest.

Seriously though, Hotpeppa. I'm in Barrie just North of you and I have one Dorset Naga just starting to fruit. You're certainly not alone - especially with all the rain we've been having lately.
