pass the parcel seed trading

Ah...can I suggest the seed packets from different donators not be combined? Seeds from different sources can be slightly different.

Also, Rocotillo is a chinense.

Pam, I could obviuously tell the varieties I combined were from the same exact donator. Same writing on the packs. I never would have done it otherwise. :)

There are multiple versions of Rocotillo (C. Chin) and (C. Bac). The C. Baccatum strain is much more common. Did you donate these seeds? If so, let me change the species name because obviously you know. lol. Thanks for the update.

Chris

When we did it in England I got a bit of a telling off for mentioning one variety that was inside it (I'll say a bit of a telling off because that person who gave me that 'bit of a telling off' is registered on here and it wasn't Woody). I was told Pass the Parcel was meant to be a secret/surprise  I prefer your rules because I've got a big mouth.

I really hope I didn't offend anyone with a list. The intent is for the package to go round and round so it will constantly change by the next time it arrives. As new participants join, new varieties most likely will be added.

I mainly did it because I remember some confusion about variety names and I thought adding species would be helpful for newer growers. I know it took me a long time to be able to identify which varieties fall into C. Baccatum, C. Chinense, etc.

Learning the whole government pepper scheme is another level too!

For anyone interested in those C. Praetermissum seeds I donated, note 1 dried pod has 12+ seeds in them so you don't need to take the whole packet thinking there's one seed in each as other wild capsicums! Spread the wealth. It's a neat variety. :)

Thanks Cmpman I know some them were ver hard to read the lables so thanks for clarifying all that and make sense of it

I think it's nice to know what's in it, especially for the people who arn't able to take part. I took a photo of the parcel when I had it in England so others could see it. I'm sure no ones offended at all Chris.

I just thought about something. Anyone seed Dethwind post lately? I sent the parcel to him, but I hope he's still active on the forum! I don't track every category of postings. I'm sure all is fine, but Dethwind if you could, confirm you're still reading. :)

Chris

I'm still here, I dont post much but I check the forums every day. The parcel arrived yesterday and will be mailed out to AlabamaJack in the next day or so.

No AJ, you're too addicted. We can't let you access any more varieties or you'll start 10 more projects. lol.

You know I will have to start another tray...

There are a few on the list I would like to try but I will be adding a lot of seeds that are left over from this years planting...I will probably add at least 30 :shh: more varieties..
