Hi Paul,
Glad to see things looking so well out your way... nice plants and lots of powder to see you through the winter. Those Aji Omnicolors you sent me last year turned out to be Beasts! I put 2 plants out in one end of a 4x10 foot raised bed and they've claimed a 4x4 space plus what's hanging over the edges. Loaded with pods too... I'm pulling about a pint of pods from them every day now. Cheers!
Hey Rick!  Glad to hear the Omnicolors are bruisers.  I had mine in a 3 gallon pot,
and it was most productive.  Good on ya for growin' out some nice specimens!

Love the Bar BQ pics, I live to cook on the pit! We do the whole chicken and ribs all the time.

Congrats on 37th! LB and I are at 34 come Dec., the years go by quickly don't they?

Oh, and the peppers! As usual they look great! The photography is super, the pics just pop!

Have a great weekend!
You bet Scott, a little mesquite and off ya go!  My favorite way to do chicken.

You are right about time passing.  Our daughter and son just turned 34 and 31.

  Rude awakening    ;)  It's all been good, though

and thank you for the kind words, brothah.  I like using dad's Nikon D300S.  I'm
too lazy to get the tripod, though, so I'm really not doing it justice

Thanks for bumping me along, fellas.

Here are the two ornamentals from the front yard,
Not Black Pearl:

...and NuMex Twilight:

Purple Flash flower.  These plants are just starting to get well-adjusted to my back yard:
_DSC0402a_zpsd999199b.jpg

The pods are small spheres, on the order of 1/8-3/16 inch in diameter:
_DSC0403a_zpsed159f1f.jpg

Now for a hot duo; Naga Morich:
_DSC0404a_zpsfd063cb5.jpg

And Bih Jolokia.  Are these not just different names for the same pepper?:
_DSC0405a_zps93dab9d7.jpg

The Giant White Habanero is putting on lots of pods, many of which will have stingers.
Last year about half had them, will be interesting to see what develops:
_DSC0406a_zpsfd189c17.jpg

Speaking of developing, the Fatali/ Savina cross just keeps amazing.  From red, habbish
pods last year to orange, fat-ish fatali-esque pods this year:
_DSC0414a_zps991935f3.jpg

Now the most recent pods to color are ripening Yellow      :

This pod has  been deemed worthy of a name.  Meet...
The Beast:

A few more left on this update.  Thanks for looking.

Thanks, my friend!
Here's the Bahamian Goat:

Oops, forgot to resize that one!

The Fatali is setting the pace for the others:

Orange Habanero is starting to color up a pod or two:

paul.. you are right about every pod a victory.. although my plants look like crap.. getting a pod a day.. is stil A VICTORY!!.. bump
That's the spirit, Denniz!  The bottom line - a pod a day can look
pretty good from some points of view!!  I hope to get in a little harvest
this weekend.  Trying to make sure pods are really ripe before pulling
them so the seeds are viable.  Will post a pic or two.

Really nice grow!

And you don't need a tripod!
Thanks, Scott.  A stretch of nice weather can make one look
pretty good sometimes, but the credit is not all mine!  I'm happy
that I have the opportunity to mess round with capsicums!

I like a tripod if I'm going to do some real enlargements of the images.
We want those dragonfly's eyelashes to be sharp   ;)

Amazing pod craziness! Looking good Paul! Hard to believe your starting seeds already. I need to be careful or i will be starting seeds now. That kind of thing is catchy you know. ;)

Great looking pods! Love the stinger on the giant white hab - looks mean!

I want to finally jump in and say what a wonderful collection of chiles you have Paul. You have come a long way dude, and now you are the Master Grower in the PNW. LOVE the Fatalii looking Beast. Great grow log with great pics!

Nice going Paul! there's lots of chile love coming on at your place! I hope the season stays mild for you for a while yet so you can harvest all of those pods. Cheers

Sorry folks, the matrix dropped some of the quote blocks when I saved the post.

@ Burning Colon:  Thanks, BC!  Hope all is well up north.

@ GA Growhead:  Thanks, brother!  I'm starting seeds so I don't feel so bad about killing plants!

They are a month old now, so will post some pics in a day or few.

What are you starting?

@ Pulpiteer:  Yeah, like a needle - just inject the cap oil into your veins!
Your Yellow Scotch Bonnet is setting lots of pods.  May even get a
ripe one if we're lucky.

As always, you are too kind, Richard, but your comments are much appreciated!
I'm leaving the Beast on the plant until I'm sure the seeds are ripe.  I really want to
grow that one out!

I hope NWCF was a blast.  I'm already looking forward to going next year!

Thanks, Rick.  A nice Fall would be just great.
I hope your season id wrapping up in great style, as well, my friend!

Did manage a bit of a harvest.  The Fatali OW is the champ producer so far.

Congo Trinidad, small early pods:

Fatali.  Setting some great pods:

More Fatalis:

Fatali x Savina:
_DSC0432a_zps843edfa6.jpg

Pointed Yellow Habanero and one lonely Peruvian White Hab:
_DSC0428a_zps14c7247f.jpg

Medley of pods.  Jamaican Red Mushroom, not quite ripe, Red Habanero, Orange Habanero:
_DSC0430a_zps2a740191.jpg

Yellow Seven:
_DSC0431a_zpsac21f76f.jpg

And one for Trippa.  This is a pod from the Yellow Scotch Bonnet.  Pretty typical; sort of a
bonnet-y top with a pinched bottom, and a fair number of bumps, but not totally brain-y.
I think most of the mature pods will be this size.  Can't wait for some mature pods.  I think
these are awesome:
_DSC0437a_zps00c8c3c1.jpg

Okay, that's what passes for a harvest at this point in time.  Thanks for looking in.  Will post pics
of the new seedlings in a couple of days - they will be one month from the sow date tomorrow.

Nice harvest Paul, all the pods are just beautiful!

Starting for next year already?

I guess you never stop!
Thanks, Scott.  Mother Nature does a pretty good job!

  actually, yes.  The plants I have going now are
ones I hope will winter over in the greenhouse.  The Yellow Aji
has a 10-month grow season, so it should be good to go by June!
The Goat's Weed do great in the greenhouse, at least last years did.

Good growin' to you, my friend!

It’s been a while, my apologies … plants, pods and pictures look perfectamundo!!!

I love da roses mon ... mama would be jealous, she started some a few years back and abandoned them after a few months. Now and then they’ll pump out a beautiful rose but they’ve been on their own for a long time now, lol. Yours look perfectly manicured and a source of beauty to your garden and yard.

Cool to see you have similar butterflies as we do, that Swallowtail picture is very cool, I just love to see them flying around the garden. Whoa what an impressive array of powders you have Paul, I love the variety of colors … where the hell have I been missing dis awesome glog lately.

Foodie looks tasty, I’m just getting out of bed and I’m off to eat … awesome!

Da beast, ornamentals and harvest … woot! … …

Yours look perfectly manicured and a source of beauty to your garden and yard.  Thanks, buddy, we enjoy them very much.  Portland is called the Rose City, so they are pretty much everywhere here.  Great rose climate as long as you can control the Black Spot, Powdery mildew, and aphids   ;)   It took me years to learn that proper pruning is a key for abundant plant growth.

The powders turned out well, if a bit coarse.  The colors are too cool, for sure.   I have put up some blends in glass jars.  I'l snatch a photo to post up later.  If I can find the little plastic bags, I'd like to send out some samples!  Some of them are just too hot   :fireball:

Thanks, Ramon.  Compared to me, your visitation of grow logs is stellar
So, no apologies necessary, my friend!

Paul it looks like you're having a wonderful season. Nice cutting board photos.
I miss the food plating shots...whatcha doing will all the ripe pods ?
Brother Greg!  Thanks for looking in.  I just dried this round of
pods, except for one of each for sampling

Hope all is well in your neighborhood.

Took the month-old (sown 8/6) seedlings out for some time under the sun.
Well, under the shade cloth!  We've had a couple of inches of rain,
but the sun is back for a while, at least as far out as the forecast goes.
Now time for the mature plants to  start ripening up in serious!

Goat's Weed.  The two in back from Shane's (stc3248) original seed 2012,
the three in front from my harvest last year:

Wild Texas Tepins (THSC 2012):

Yellow Ajis (Aji Amarillo).  Back row, original Peruvian Market 2012 seed,
Front, three PM from my 2012 harvest and one from PepperGal seed 2012:

and the runty Red Rocoto* from Fernando Socal Chilihead):

*An extremely slow germinator and grower.  There was another one,
but it didn't make it.  This one took 23 days to hook, so it's 9 days old.

Okay, a little critter shot.
If you're squeamish, don't look.
Hide your small children's eyes.
Definitely do not let your pepper plants see this.

This is what we call a slug in Oregon.
Compared to the six inch wide board,
I make it to be just about 5 inches:
DSCN0003a_zpsdb706c47.jpg

Actually, just one of many kinds of forest slugs here.  In the coast forests there are
awesome green and yellow ones about the same size.  These guys are amazing
composters and eat the green stuff growing on the boards like crazy.  They keep
the forest floor nice and clean!

88˚F outside right now                         :D

Hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start.  Will try to update
again next week sometime unless I get a wild hair first!

Wow!!! I missed a bit...and you're starting seeds!!!  That's the Paul I know and love!!! Those pods are as crazy as your slug! 3+" Fataliis! Keep the pics coming brotha!
