PaulG 2014

Grow List 2014 - Many new varieties and a few repeaters.
This is the third year of my original three year plan to grow a slew of different
types to see what grows well here before settling on some consistent performers.
I'd love to grow some of the new varieties from this season again, and some more
of my favorites from 2012, but not enough space.  But I have seed for my favorites for
season 2015, so I have something to look forward to already!

Major goal for season 2014 - lay in a good supply of super hot powder!

Just a quick update on the wild Texas Tepins.  This one has the most ripe pods; all will have to go to the greenhouse when and if I need space for starts in party cups:

Beautiful start to the new growing season.  I can't wait to see what this season blesses you with. :fireball:
Thanks, Pia!  I'm kind of looking forward to the
season, as well.  Third time's a charm, they say!

Hope your grow knocks you over this season!

I gotta say, I'm jealous of the Goat's Weed and Manzanos. Beautiful plants.
Thanks, but hey, John, don't be jealous.  Let's get together with some
more Portland area folk and do some swapping and trading!

Very nice OW! They all look good and happy. Tepin is one of my favorites, I have an almost 3 year old plant that's still coming in strong. I'll post a pic sometime.  Do!

I'm very jealous of that greenhouse you have, and very well set up.

I can't speak about aphids as I never really had a mayor infestation. Only had it on a choco hab but I just squished them to death and problem solved.

Hope they stay clean now, and they produce well for you this season.

Thanks for all the good vibrations, Walt!

The little 6x8 greenhouse kit was the least expensive on the
market, by far, and has been very serviceable.  Doc n Rock
also got one, and had great success with it.

As for aphids, I'm going with Rick's suggestion about pyrethrin
as soon as I can get to the hydro store. The other stuff is okay,
but not totally satisfactory.  I'm confident the plants will get it
sorted out by plant out time.

Best of luck with the 2014 season, Paul. Sorry to hear about those aphids :(
Thanks, Stefan, same to you!

The aphids are just a nuisance.  I don't really think my plants are in
danger unless I stop being vigilant.  the little suckers are persistent
if nothing else!
   in the dark?

Hey, Rob, thanks, brother!

Nice OWs, Paul!
I hope aphids won't harm them anymore.

Balázs
Thank you, Balázs, your grows knock me out, my friend!

The aphids are just the penance for having such fun with
the peppers!

Shane (stc3248) sent me the 'wildest' seed package!  I have seen these varieties
on the forum and been intrigued by them, now I have a chance to grow them out!
Thanks, chief; you are, as always, the man!

After thinking for a minute, I think Prod is short hand for Prodigal son?

Definitely! I've come to the conclusion that there's no way I'm going to be able to grow EVERYthing (or even get close), so trading would be great.

Paul...Yeah Prod is for Pr0digal_Son. I got them from him and I am heartbroken that I don't think I am going to be able to grow any out. Figured if anyone could get them up and going it would be you...and in return maybe you'll hit me back with a pod or two off them bad boys! Hope you enjoy them brother.

Everyone reading...this wasn't a one way street...I got a couple kicka$$ packages from Paul this year too. So, he deserves it!!!

Nice selection of seeds!! I always wanted to grow the rocopica and someone gave me a few seeds and none have sprouted and one seed in the aerogarden hoping it does pop and if it does I'm gonna grow the heck out of that one.

Can wait to see how all if this goodness progresses. Looks like everyone is having a blast this year. Feels good and very motivational to keep pulling strong.

You are right, Walt. There is a ton of action in the glogosphere this season.
Way too much awesome stuff to do justice to in a couple of hours of glog surfing!

Your aerogarden looks great!  I'm looking forward to unlimbering mine!

Excellent package you received Paul, I see some very killer varieties in there...
Yeah, everyone looks awesome.
Will get these going pretty quick!
Sounds like an aerogarden project!

Nice spread Paul! How is it going to affect your grow list?

Can't wait to see some hooks!
I try not to think too much about my grow list!

Me too, I'm stoked to get them going!

Keep on growing Paul ... Wishing you a fantastic 2014 ... Cheers trippa
Thank you, my friend!  I hope you have been able
to get your situation squared away down there.

Haven't seen your glog around much lately.
Everything okay?

We have been in a holiday house for the past 4 weeks ....will be back home this weekend... Hence the lack of details on my blog .... All I can report from my few visits to water the plants at home is they are all still alive and a few I potted up have taken off nicely ... Sneaking suspicion the ill health of many of mY plants is down to poor root space!!

Wow, been a lot of action here the last couple of days, Paul.  Your OWs are looking great, much better than mine.  Nice care package from Shane, too.

Glad to hear you got a nice holiday in, Tristen!  And that your
plants are surviving in your absence.  You had quite a go there
for a minute!  I have a feeling that once you get back to the
plants in a consistent manner and get them into newhomes
they will take off and be superstars!

I have some of the SB TFM from last year's harvest coming
along in 18oz. cups!

Good luck in 2014, brother!

Hey, John!  there has been a lot of action in the grow forum in
general this season.  The glogs turn ver faster than I can keep
up! the OW plants seem to be surviving pretty well in the greenhouse,
but I have too many!  Because I started a bunch in August!  I
think it was a good move for the Yellow Ajis  - they have such a
long grow season that the insanely early start may actually make
them more productive earlier in the Spring/Summer.  the Tepins
are kind of weirding out a little.

The NagaBrain starts from the F2 mother pods are coming along
nicely in the 18 oz. cups,  I sowed a few more from the seed you
sent as well as the Bonda x Yellow 7  on Jan. 2nd.  Eagerly awaiting
hooks on those!
