PaulG 2014

Grow List 2014 - Many new varieties and a few repeaters.
This is the third year of my original three year plan to grow a slew of different
types to see what grows well here before settling on some consistent performers.
I'd love to grow some of the new varieties from this season again, and some more
of my favorites from 2012, but not enough space.  But I have seed for my favorites for
season 2015, so I have something to look forward to already!

Major goal for season 2014 - lay in a good supply of super hot powder!

I always appreciate your enthusiasm, Jericson!

I have to credit you (and Denniz) for getting me interested in aeros.

Funny, no matter how much space we have, we always want more!

i  see pods!!.. and see you are doing well with the cheater box!!
Hey, Denniz, good buddy!  Yes, there are mini-pods all over, and more
coming with the beginning of summer weather    A few are even
starting to show teeny specks of color!

The Aerogarden is a cool tool.  There have to be 50 flower buds on the
Chili Costa Rica.  I can't wait to see what the outdoor plant does.  One thing
I have noticed is that the stems aren't real sturdy.  I should have a fan on the
plant, but really don't have one that is suitable for this location at the moment.

Something I will have to look into when we get back from a little vacation trip.

Plants are looking great Paul...excellent!
Hi Penny, thanks for visiting!  It's nice to have some decent growing weather
for a while.  The hailstorm and 90 degree days two days after plant out should
have hardened off the plants pretty well     Your tomatoes took it all in
stride and are healthy and growing fast!

We're going to be heading out of town for a few days, so will be AWOL from the forum.
Here are a few pix in the meantime.  The weather has been great for growing, and it looks
like a couple of weeks more of the same at least!  Will be interesting to see how things
have changed when we get back.

Swapped out the water in the areogarden yesterday.  Here's a look at the roots on the Chili
Costa Rica - Hippy Seed Co. 2012.  You can see the air stone in the roots:

Okay, see everyone around the end of the month.  My neighbors are looking after cats and
plants, so I know things will be in good shape when I return barring catastrophic occurrences!

Hope everyone's grow season is starting to roll with the better weather.  Everybody's blogs
look great - the country will be awash in heat come Fall!

Wow Paul great stuff.  The Garden is looking Marvelous and the Mystery Cross is finally podding up for you ... hope they grow/taste as good as the couple I got my past season ... your plants are something to be proud of.  Nice work

Looks great Paul. Its looking like I will be growing in my garage over this winter as I am 4 months behind.. But Hell its a learning experance in germination...

Nice update Paul. All the plants are looking nice.

Enjoy your trip.
Thanks, Jeff.  We had a really great time with our son and daughter.
Alaska is pretty awesome.  But not so much pepper growing there!

Nice shots Paul! My first pod on the F3 PI-441598 is ripen to a peach color!
Everything is looking awesome!
Have fun on your trip!
Thanks, Jason!  It was fun!

Peach pods!  The pods on mine are still purple - haven't started
to turn yet, but this good weather should get them started.

Trips are well earned!
Thanks, Scott!  Yes they are.  It's been a coon's age since we went somewhere
with both of our offspring, so it was a special vacation for sure.

Thanks, James.  We had some nice Spring color this year even
after the brutal cold (for here) winter we had!

Lovin' the garden shots with the bonsai.

I guess Goat Weed x  Aji Lemon. Or visa versa
Thanks, buddy!  The bonsai are fun to mess with, all right!
And they make nice shade for the lettuce!

Nice guess, Jesse!  Trippa will have to tell you if you are right or not.
There are a couple of pics below for you to ponder.

Thank you, Tristen!  I'm looking forward to trying the Mystery cross pods.  J

Thanks, Kevin!  Hey, at least you would up with plants!
Better late than never ;)

Good luck getting geared up for some OW activity!

Here are a few pics from yesterday - Been very busy since we got back
June 1st, but the ol' homestead is pretty squared away for the summer.
We've had a great run of nice weather since April 28; night lows still a bit
cool, but daytime temps are awesome - lists of 70's and 80's.

Many plants have quite a few baby pods on them - sampled a yellow fatali/savina
(3rd gen.  - Justaguy) that was very promising.  Most of these pics are of the early
pre-summer pods.

Not White Yellow Bhut Jolokia - Sawyer:

Manzanos finally starting to flower.  This is the 3rd year Orange Manzano - Stc3248:
DSCN0228a_zpsf25b157b.jpg

And the first year OW started in August.  It is the best looking of the three plants I have going, covered with flowers, and
several teeny pods set.  Hoping they don't drop:
DSCN0227a_zpsf694faaa.jpg

The Wild Brazil - Stc3248, has several nice pods getting some sun tan:
DSCN0226a_zpsba326fa2.jpg

And last but not least, Trippa's mystery crosses.  JJJesse took a stab at the i.d. - anyone else now that we have the new pics?

The F1 has pointy pods for the most part.  this is the biggest so far, about an inch-and-a-half long:
DSCN0221a_zps9a9b7c63.jpg

The F2 pods seem mostly  to have more of a blunt shape.  Unfortunately the biggest one in this pic has a chew hole
near the stem.  You can just see the edge of it in this pic.  How we doin', Tristen?:
DSCN0222a_zps027b5d99.jpg

Will try to nab a few images each day to avoid having to update 57 plants!   The grow season is off to a good start.
Here's hoping our good fortune continues!  Will try to get around to a few blogs this week.  I'm sure lots has
happened since May 24th!  Hope everyone os having a good weekend...

Hell at leastIll have a heat mat and stuff. I should be able to at least get a few pods. I planted the seeds i got from every one here. I will get a glog going here to night..
