PaulG 2020

Sorry to hear about the surgery and dealing with the incision in such a sensitive place. I’ll be hoping for a speedy recovery for you.

Plants are looking great and all the little hooks coming out of the rockwool are going to be fun to watch as they catch up to the other plants.

Thanks, Jason, I appreciate the kind words.

I hope the new round of seeds catches up
sometime. Probably good they are growing
slow since I'm out of space for plants, and
the aphids are hacking me off!

Ditto! I have 2 going with a few pods, very nice looking plants.
Oh, stop it, you're killing me

I’ve got them effing aphids also. Today I sprayed them with my work pandemic spray which is about 3/4 99% IPA, 1/4 water and some tea tree oil. It put a hell of a hurtin’ on the aphids. I guess I’ll find Monday if my plants survive. [emoji848]

Thanks, HM. I am looking forward to trying the Sugar Rush Peach.

Let’s see, 21 chinenses, 8 Rocotos, 16 wilds, 3 baccatums, 12 annuums
if all germinate. That makes 60 plants if I can still add. Really more than
I have room for. I imagine I will dial back a little next year, but I have so
many cool seed varieties In my box, that may be difficult!

60 plants is quite a bit! - definitely takes dedication to take care of that many plants and have them grow as healthy as yours Paul. I'd be happy to one day be able to grow half as many. Great job...

Thanks, HJM. I actually forgot to count the five
Trippaul Threat v.2 in beverage cups!

I am going to have to use Skullbiker's trick of
putting multiple plants in one container.

Plus, I still have all my veggie seeds to get going.

Help!

Hell Paul, I owe ya for the last 4 years of mentorship, you go ahead and bring me your overflow and I'll till an extra row for you in the half--er--three quarters of an 8th acre!

I would like nothing better than that, my friend!

Consider your 'debt' paid with all the awesome
seeds you sent this season!

I'm hoping my neighbor doesn't move so I can
give him some plants.

You can really laugh when July comes and I'm all done here, and you're all loaded up ;)  (said in that eccentric British accent) "We're just on a different sed-ule"...
I’ll try to keep that in mind while I’m hoping
we have enough decent Fall weather to get
pods to a ripe stage!

You funny! What? You don't have the whole block hooked yet?

I’m working on it, buddy! I keep scaring people away

I've got some of those crossed GrowDown ThrowDown Sausage peppers started.

Thanks for those seeds.

The middle one has some hints of purple in the stalk.  I guess I'll find out later if it crossed again with one of your purple varieties.  :)

That’s so cool, Mitch! I’m glad you are growing them.
You are carrying the banner for this variety, my friend.
You are the only one growing them! Good luck with
them, and I hope the pods are worthwhile! Since yours
are an F2, there is lots of opportunity for different
genetic variation stemming from Pepper Guru’s original
grow.

Really tired of battling aphids. Mechanical removal with
brush and tweezers. Spray with insecticidal soap. Spray
with NEEM. Finally decided to do a top down soil drench
with the NEEM. So, mixed up two-and-one-half gallons
and watered every one of the 65 plants. Hopefully this will
eventually keep the aphids at bay.

Per gallon:
One tablespoon of NEEM
One teaspoon of biodegradable dish soap
Warm water

Weather has been nice lately. The next few
nights in the low 40’s, so am going to leave
the rocotos outside for now. Hopefully that
will cause them to perk up a little:
