Gotta give a big Charleston shout out to beerbreath81!!!
A couple days ago, an unexpected parcel hit my front porch. Called in the bomb squad to check it out. The detection dogs gave no indication of explosives - but did have heavy sneezing fits (consistent with capsicum inhalation) when checking the parcel. It was determined that the package was safe to open. Oh man!
Well the box contained some great stuff!. Early Christmas for this dude.
A pic showing some of the stuff but not all*** I forgot to display a nice bag of dried yellow Ghost peppers. Two other bottles I took to work to share (one of pickled Wenks peppers and some pickles.) Sorry, so excited to share, totally forgot about the photo op..
I dug into his jar of home made pickles straight away.. look at that visual!
The lid had a packing date written on top and initials "GP." The first pickle I tried was awesome, but damn - so hot it hurt my feelings for a good 20 minutes or so. beerbreath81 revealed in PM that the "GP" was for...(my dumbass didn't catch it..)
Ghost
Pepper.... Another jar has "CR" written on it. I'm just gonna look at that one for a while....
He also included some seafood boil and a couple bottles of hot sauce. I tried one right off the bat - this Bajan sauce from Barbados
Holy moly, it was great! Salty sour tang with great finishing heat, about at the top of my comfort zone there, but flavor so "on point." I had never tried this style of sauce before landing on this website and this thread in particular, where MikeUSMC and Crsipee-FL each sent me bottles of their take on "Bajan." Unless my memory fails me, Mike's was some kinda hot, and Crispee's had a Mango slant. Both were great, and now having the genuine article for benchmark, I see where they were both going. Two angles to the same point.
Thanks again. My words cannot give adequate example for my appreciation. PPATB !!!!!!
