It's possible Mezo........what the pull out method doesn't work????.........

Man o Man 10 days sure feels like a long long long long time. I've been meaning to update the glog but I haven't had an opportunity to snap off any pics.

My garden at home is doing awesome. The weeds grow way to F'in Fast! I weeded 12 days ago and they are already back coming on strong.....I need to put down some mulch or somethin'.....

The plants are kickin' ass though! Still have bugs eatin' my plants but I put down some Diatomaceous Earth but since I watered and washed most of it away, I saw an earwig on one of the plants the other night. I'm going to have to spread some more.

They are getting bushier, I wish they would grow upward a little. Time to fert again! I have my first pod on my Banda Ma Jaques HellzToTheMotherF..........yeah! I'd like it to get a little bigger though so if any other pods start poppin' up they are getting plucked. At least for another two weeks.

The garden at my buddies is hanging in there. Some plants rebounded, some look really good, others are still looking under the weather. I do have a few pods on those plants as well. I'm letting the Yellow Fatalii pod up. The rest are gettin' plucked for another two weeks or so as well.

I'll have pics soon. Maybe tomorrow. You can see the atrocities I have going on.....lol

Need pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hows the flowers been hanging on in this ungodly heat. 95 and 96 the last couple days and dry as could be man. I've been noticing a ton of flowers on my plants just dropping in this shiat.

Alright, the seeds have soaked, I've built a semi enclosure "Plant Hollywood" and I've prepared the seed trays with Jiffy seed starter and two seeds of each type. This is starting to get interesting.
hell.gif

I filled the bottom about 2-1/2 inches up with Jiffy and recessed the seed trays into the mix. I'm hoping this will help with watering and incubation. (I threw two seeds into that Jiffy as well, just in the ones in the trays don't germ. lol)
IMG_0481.jpg

This is "Plant Hollywood" (A little ghetto, but made with love) I ran out of tinfoil or there would be a flap of it on the front face of the enclosure. I love it....now I have to figure out how to conceal the light at night so I can sleep, without smothering the plants. The light on top is a full spectrum Lizard light. I will be replacing the bulb with a 65W CFL 6500k as soon as I get to the store.
IMG_0486.jpg

The heat from this incandescent bulb should keep the temp up. Once I replace it with the CFL, I'm thinking of placing the clay pots on candle warmers. This way the the jiffy around the tray will warm and keep the seed trays warm as well.....In theory that is...lol I have no idea what temp it will keep it at, whether it be too hot or too cold...IDK. It's an experimental process. I might just cut another hole on top and keep the Lizard light in the enclosure with the CFL. That way I keep the heat in there and more light. I'll have to think about it. Might just test both out and see which one works. Everyone's assholes are welcome to speak up, because I love opinions and other ideas.

Doing this has made my day....now to wait and see if they pop. (the seeds are right on top, covered with very minimal Jiffy. I received the seeds through the seed train 2012...hope you guys packed some fertile spawns!!!

Added these plastic cups for a greenhouse effect

can u get any more ghetto bro?

tin foil and cardboard?

Aight, here's some pics of what's goin' on with the grow. I am getting on a fertilizer schedule (finally) It seems to have shown a little improvement but the new growth on a lot of these plants is disgusting. You can check it out for yourself and see what you think. We have also started a regular foliar feeding schedule. I need to get some delivery agent to go with the Liquid Mexican Guano I picked up yesterday. We will see how this stuff works. I also picked up two bags of FoxFarm's general 5-4-6 (I believe that's the NPK) granular fertilizer, which we will see how that works out as well.

I am really thinking of digging up all of the plants, digging 6 gallon holes and filling them with new soil. The soil is the major problem here. Making me pull my hair out. Our experiments with digging up a few plants has shown some success. Enough to where I am thinking about digging up the whole garden. Decisions to be made.

I let a few peppers go on and grow, man do they take a long time to ripen early in the season. They haven't grown in size for three weeks but are still green. I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for them to change color! lol

as you can see in this picture, the growth is really ratty. It is all shriveled and dark dark green, they are really dry too. Almost like they've been in a dehydrator. (This is how a lot of the new growth on a lot of my plants look)

Here's a few of the garden (which if you go back and look, they haven't really grown at all. I mean they have grown, I've measured and I can tell but overall they are nothing compared to what they should be. I have my garden at home to compare them to.)

heres how i keep them cool....at peak times temp gets to 90+ but without the scalding of the sun.. now the only thing is i dont know if it slows their growth since im filtering the sun....cost$32 a roll.. these guys have tolerated the sun/heat from 8am-5pm... all day filtered sun... flowers have stayed on except the red savina..

my King..sorry for thread jacking...

No problem KD, any info is good info.

Man I got pod porn and no one shows up for the party! WTF! lol. Peeps come check these pods out. They ain't much but they are gold to me.

I'd appreciate if anyone can comment if they've had new growth look like the spindly, dark green, dried out looking garbage that I posted pics of above??

The closest thing I've come to that might be a problem is a deficiency in K (Potassium)?? Almost all of my plants' new growth is like this. It's crazy. It's a deficiency of some sort....I just started giving them fertz and foliar feeding more regularly. So I'll see if this helps out.

I found a soil test kit and a PH probe at Goodwill (charity resale shop) for 2.99 and 1.99...awesome find. They are older but new in package. I can test like 6 times for N, P, K and PH.

My personal garden has just been growing like crazy. (no soil issues here, just bugs) A lot of pods starting to set. I'm going to feed them some bloom and see what happens!

Here's some pics guys! Thanks for lookin'

Oh by the way I got a new computer. It's blazing fast compared to my ancient laptop. I'll be able to update more often, now that it doesn't take 2 hours! (It came with a nice surprise: Hidden RootKit Virus....took me a bit to get it off)

Just so you know, it's late Saturday night and I'm supposed to be getting my beauty sleep so I can bring it tomorrow in church, the only day I work, but I had to reply and give you some props for you pics and pods. Looking good - your personal garden is looking great. Nice bushy growth. They'll be poppin soon. Nice baby pod pictures - it's fun to see the shapes they take. I find myself checking mine often.

I wish I could help you on that dark green, dried out growth, but I'm no plant doctor yet. Just learning from lots of people here. I hope someone does know and your plants bounce back. Just keep fighting the good fight!

haha, thanks for stopping by and giving my glog a little bit of your time. I hope for you to find all the right words to inspire your fellow man to leave your sermon with a feeling of love, hope, courage and wisdom.

well if it helps.. this is how my trinidad perfume looks like

this is how it looks like now :tear:

keep up the porn.. im on the same boat as you.. every pod counts!!

It looks over ferted and Maybe a little under watered or it is really hot where you are? When I over fert, the leaves always like to curl upward and flip over backwards. Your Perfumes look like my pods but bigger. I think that they are Perfumes. Thanks KD!

What happened to it?

Here's another pod from the grow we have going on at my buddies. It is my most evil pepper. I LOVE it.

YELLOW BHUT

I have had the identical type of growth on some of my plants and came to believe it was broad mites. I bought a 60X-100X magnifying glass and could see the eggs on the underside of the leaves.

I also had that identical growth issue with the leaves, King. I have pics to upload of it somewhere. I picked all that gnarly growth off to the nearest node and threw it out. I thought it was either aphid damage or thrips and their larva. Either way, I had to do it twice and now they seem to be ok. It only hit maybe 6 plants and all the plants get the same nutes so I'm guessing it must be something pest related. The center vein on the leaves were the most freaky looking. All "ess'd up" like a mini sidewinder. Everything seems to be doing ok now. It only hit my 3 Caribbean Reds, 1/3 Fatalii, 1/3 Scorpion Moruga, and a couple others (all chinense I believe).

Does every plant have it? What's working for you over there seems to be working well, what isn't just needs some fine tuning. My plants are pretty small and bushy. I think with this heat out here they will go into full veg for awhile. I know you Illinois people are having some heat and drought issues so that isn't helping matters, I'm sure.

Bought a mini microscope and checked today. Not the issue but thank you so much for giving me a path to start on.

Almost every plant has it, I really think it has to do with a root problem or nutrient/water uptake issue. Due to a few reasons; The plants were really root bound when I planted them, the roots didn't look robust when I planted, browning a slightly brittle. Second, the soil I have is CRAP! lol

It affected a lot of leaves....I don't know if I want to pull that many! hahahahaha I will let ya know when I get it figured out.

Dang man. I have not been around so much and just got to check you out. Not sure what that leave problem is. i have some funky growth but nothing that looks like that. Im interested to here if you get it figured out. weather its nutes, bugs, or fungus/virus. im such a nood i would know. But your pods are BA! that yellow bhut is wicked looking! It takes forever for my pods to ripen right now too. and the bigger the pods the longer it seems to take.... best of luck figuring out your issues.

Jeez man! Plants at home are lookin dope! Some really nice healthy pods and plants bro. Def save some seeds from that yellow bhut! I soooo gotta make it down there man to check em out for real. Good growin man!

The picture I had of the leaves is all blurry. I'm telling you man, remove the leaves! I did and my plants are fine now. If you are up for the nuclear option buy some sevin and spray after you take the leaves off.

It will certainly be easier than replacing all the soil. Check your ph and amend accordingly. You can top dress and water in whatever you need to adjust accordingly (lime or something). And, I had the same issues and they are gone. So, try that first man! You still have plenty of time for vegetative growth and everywhere you pull will stimulate excessive new growth.

Hey brother just reviewing back over your leave photos...Seth may be on to something with the leaf removal. I had quite a few that were like that too. One Scorpion was particularly FUBAR. Same mutant off shape/size leaves and stunted growth. I just let that dude figure it out and its now a bush. Still has a ton of the funky mutant leaves on it that are now normal size. It has caught up growth wise but is still lagging in the production department. The ones I stripped naked recovered much more quickly and are throwing on new pods left and right. Hope this helps man...or better yet, I hope you've already seen them take a good turn for you.
Good luck!
