I'd have a hard time cutting off the branches, too. You obviously have worked very hard to get the plants to where they are now. Which begs congrats on the first ripe Brain and the good looking Morugas.

How many more ripe Brains to hook up the burger joint? ...

3/5... Nice score from Andy, those yellow pods look juicy and dangerous........
The red pod in the box has a larger calyx on the top, which is most likely an annuum. A squash type ( Jamaican Red Hot )......which is fine, heat varries from pod to pod with no great intensity. The yellow or orange hots have a bit more heat all around.

Greg

Nice score from Andy! Just reminded me I still haven't posted the pics of the awesomeness he sent my way too...what a great guy. Your pod shots are lookin good! Can't wait to hear how it goes at the burger joint...should be really funny. Hope someone takes a vid of the poor souls eating the burgers from hell.

I know, cutting branches is sacrilege. But from past experience as long as it doesn't have any pods hanging from it. The plant will adjust quickly and in the end it will probably be beneficial. The plants love a nice haircut...lol.

You know, I'm not quite sure how he is planning on incorporating them. I told him I wasn't sure which pods I was bringing him. Even if I did bring him the brain strains, I don't know if he would use them sparingly in some dish. He is a chilihead though so he might get a little crazy with them....it's the patrons that are wuss's. I figure I will bring him around 15 Brains. We will see. BTW, the first Brain....I cut it in half and it was moldy....sucks. It's ok though, I know that this happens on some of the first pods. Internal BER.

Hey Greg, thanks for popping out of the darkness and educating me! The yellow pods? Hmmm I must have to adjust my white balance. They are Peach Bhut's, unless you are talking about the Peach Scorpions, which that little pod was great! It had a decent heat and some good flavor. I was thoroughly surprised by it. Jamaican Red Hot...good to know...there are so many similar peppers, it gets a little overwhelming to try and keep them all straight, Especially with all of their slight variances. I don't like calling a pepper something it's not. (You can get your head bitten off here for that :shh: ) I agree about the heat, I have a yellow/orange variety growing that gave me one ripe pod. It did have more heat than this red variety. I'll have to come check out the crazyness going on over in your neck of the Glogs. I'm sure it's turning into quite the bolstering and impressive spectacle. :hell:

Yeah, I'll take the video....lol. I don't know what he is planning on doing with them. I know he has a challenge that incorporates MadDog357 5M Shu extract sauce.....so he's not shy about burning people up. I will let you guys know once I talk to him again. Andy is awesome. You guys are the reason I keep coming back here. I never thought I would ever get this involved on a forum. If it weren't for all the great people, I'd never spend this much time here. Those Moruga's look brutal. I haven't tried any yet...... It's not like I'm scared or anything... :liar:

Them tsmb's look insanely hot man! In that picture you posted that red pepper in the bottom right is def the scotch bonnet.

J-Mo! Yes, Yes they do. I will be trying a little bit of one soon. I'm trying to get my pepper mojo back on track since that Black Naga incident. A Red Scotty ey...I will remember that. Tasted great.

Good luck with the burger joint. Burn them babies up. Hold back nada..... I would brain strain and morouga them till they cried for Lil baby Jesus. (In my Rickey Bobby voice)  Nice package. Hope you enjoy all that wonderful hotness. Pods are looking good and healthy.

Hey, glad you're enjoying the peppers! Sorry, my internet has been out for the last several days, so I've not really been able to be on the boards... Greg's right about the Jamaican hot red, or I think it's also a mushroom pepper. Shane showed me a link on my glog awhile back - you're not the only one confused about scotch bonnets. It seems to be one of the most disputed peppers out there. The cap is how you tell if it's a annuum as opposed to a chinense. Since SB's are a chinense, those red ones are not SB's. They are great to cut the tops off of and stuff with cream cheese though.

Got it. We have a local grinder shop that has a gigantic grinder on their menu named "The Beast." They have a weekly "Beast Challenge." The only difference is they also put bhut sauce and habanero sauce on the challenge sandwiches. The owner found out about my grow and wants some Morugas for their challenge later in the year for a faceoff of previous winners. Now I just need to start producing!

Please post how it goes.

Hey, king, your glog'n'grow is rockin' like a baby in the treetop!
Just don't let any of those branches break! The inside of the
TSMB looks fatal; gotta love the convolutions in the pods that
increase surface area for oil production. How's that for a bone-
head theory

Your glog has become a great gathering place, King. Always fun
to stop by and see what craziness is next. Hope the Bears do ya
proud this year!

Hail the all mighty King. Glad to see that USPS box didn't catch on fire. Good job Andy. Always good to see fellow pepper heads sharing their growth. I think you really need to give your plants a cut since last photo of them you couldn't see where one plant started and where it ended

Thank you, I will be lighting this town on fire. :hell:

I will let you go, Ricky. But first, I want you to say..."I... love... crepes."
Don't you say it, Ricky. These colors don't run.
I'm not gonna say it.
Good.
Hey, look, Frenchy, I thought about it. So why don't you go ahead and break my arm?
I do not want to break your arm, Monsieur Bobby, but I am a man of my word.
Here's the deal. He's not gonna break it because I'm gonna slip out of it right now. Houdini!
Whoa! Get down, you little pancake.
Someone might as well get me a beer while I'm down here.
But you have forced me to do this. You are now mocking me and making me look ridiculous. Just say, "I love crepes."
You know, just to put this in there, I had a whole mess of crepes this morning. They're just like pancakes, maybe even better.
Wait, are they the really thin pancakes?
Yeah.
Yes they are. They are the really thin pancakes. It's just a French word for them.
Oh, my god, I love those.
Put any syrups you want on them. I'm just saying, think about it.
They come with cheese sometimes?
Yes, of course, a fromage-crepe.
Well, why didn't someone yell that right-right away?
Do you know what's in the crepe suzette?
Oh, I love the crepe suzette.
With the sugar and lemon juice...
Yeah, the sugar and the lemon juice. Sure.
Grand Marnier.
I wo - I wish I could crawl into one of those right now. I'd eat my way out from the inside.

"Nice Package" It is isn't it, did I forget to XY the Z..... :shh:

They are tasty and you can pop them like candy. I will remember to stuff some in the future. The cap is how I tell they are awesome. Thank you again bradda. Much appreciated.

Sounds awesome sauce, I will let you know how it goes. I am in the same boat. I need these bastards to start throwing pods..like an MLB Starting pitcher...soon enough...good luck with your grow.

Hey'a Pauly, thank you, thank you very much. I'm having fun with it. Convolutions ey'......you made me go to the dictionary Mr. PG...hahahaha  and yes I could go along with that theory. ;)

I hope the Bears do well too. They have the ability but It seems they lack the temperance and continuity to see a season through to the SuperBowl....any way, they are a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Thanks for poppin' in Paul.

"Sharing their growth"......lmfao....oh man, my mind is a terrible thing I tell you....but oh so much fun to use.

Thanks, and yes I've been contemplating cutting them back, but I'd have to cut a decent amount away to make it much better. I might just deal with it until next year.

Man it has been a hot minute. I have been slacking in the update department. Sorry guys and gals. I means to make it right. I have some beautiful pictures for your eyes to gazeth upon. I am going to be updating the home garden today. I will update the away garden separately.

Everything is good to go, things are growing and ripening well. I need to add some bloom fertilizers because I don't think my pod set count is nearly where it should be. Although I am a noob and that could be due to not enough nodes for new flowers to pop from? What do you think? is it too late to give it a little prune job and have more sites develop?

Gorgeous pics and your prune experiment sounds interesting. I am thinking about trying it on my trinidad scorp but I dont know what to prune. It only has one flower on it and two buds that have been the same size for a month.
