Amazing how fast these babies grow, as I was walking up this day they were testing their flight gear and I’ll probably show up one morning to find them gone. Here’s two of the 4, if you look hard you can see a silhouette of the 3rd in the nest in between the two standing, I didn't see the 4th one this morning but I know he/she is there.

BTW I noticed tonight how they practice, they hold onto a flimsy limb with their claws and flap their wings like mad, they get good lift but it's too dark to pull off a good shot at that distance.

One of the yellow crested night herons came whizzing buy this morning; I guess the babies have grown enough to fly. I grabbed a piece of Cuban bread and coaxed them to land near me. Unfortunately I was unable to get a good picture of either of the two that flew, the third one stayed in the nest till late day and when I checked on them later she had also flown the coop, although they all returned to the nest before sunset.

nice shots!
Thanks :)

A different bird stopped by and I was able to take a few pictures. The Green Heron is relatively small when compared to other herons around south Florida, even smaller than the baby night herons I have been taking pictures of but an excellent fishing bird with that sharp beak.

Playing around with the new Canon S100 P-n-S, the 'Kid took these on the Oregon coast. There's no zoom on the seagull, he was that close to it.
