Nice WalkGood. I didn't get a chance to see a Manatee on our visit to FL. We watched for them at Alabama Jacks whilst sipping Bloody Mary's tho. That was great. Nice pictures.

Thanks Jim, surprised you didn’t ride one after a few bloodies ~_^ Guess it must be illegal now but back when we were kids we’d ride on their backs as long as they weren’t loaded with barnacles.

On another note, has anyone ever grow black pumpkins, they're a hoot on Halloween ;)

I walked into my home office last night as the sun was setting and had this photo op. I could not believe the lighting.

Some more shots my wife caught that I like. For the most part it's the kids turn...

Dewberries grow wild all over central Texas, especially rocky areas around lakes or streams. Every spring around the middle of March they go into flower & are ripe by about the end of April on into May. Late March is the best time to go scouting for patches because the white flowers stand a lot more than the dark purple/black berries. I've got two spots I hit up out near Belton Lake every year that always produce a ton of berries.

You can see last year's haul & some homemade jam in this album: Dewberry Jam

Close up of a dewberry flower. They grow on little vertical stems off of trailing canes that stay low to the ground.

If even half of these flowers set it's gonna be a good year:

Man I love bluebonnets. In the springtime open fields often look like open ocean from a distance. So much blue. In a couple weeks I need to take a road trip & snag some pics of fields in full bloom.

The agarita in Austin is a couple weeks ahead of the ones back in Bell County. Fruit has set and already half-way ripe. They'll be a vibrant red when they're ready to harvest:
