Nice aerie Scovie! I have been trying to get some eagle shots the last two months with no luck. Always see them when I don't have the camera! They got their asses handed to them around here years ago and they are slowly coming around. A couple counties up from me there are 24 nesting pairs. How close are you to water? Most of the nests here are on rock cliffs along the Ohio River and it's feeders.

Wish I had a better camera!!!! This point and shoot doesn't cut it. Just found that nest yesterday late afternoon about 1 mile from my house. It was pretty damn dark out and that is about as good as my rookie ass could do without a tripod. When it flew in all wildlife went on lockdown. You could hear a pin drop. When I was younger the Bald Eagle was only a fairytale in this area. DDT and stupid people wiped them out completely. Up until the early 90's there were only about 10-15 pair in the state!!!!! We have over 200 now and the #s are rising.

I found another pre Civil War furnace also, 20 more to go.
