PIC 1's......Pod Pornage.............2012

Here's the start on my grow log. Well no pods yet but I have to start somewhere, and away we go!

The seeds in the containers are all c.chinense. They were dunked in a germinating solution for an over-nighter on December 1st.
This was the first phase of the germination process with plantings happening every 2 weeks through the month of January.
The annum species and the mild/medium strains will get planted late Jan through early Feb.

Most of these are "Super-hots.

Here's a shot from today, things are looking up and up.

IMG_2132.jpg

Here's a unique looking seedling. It has 3 cotyledon's and a set of 3 true leaves. The seedling is a Trinidad Scorpion Green, seeds are from Chris (cc). I've seen the triple cotyledon with my Coronong's but not the triple set of true leaves at the same time

Here's another seedling that caught my eye. The leaves are as dark purple as my Dutch.Hot's. This one's the Purple Bhut Jolokia seeds were also from Chris. I know the leaves will eventually turn green.....but right now they look pretty...

Did somebody say "Purple"......Here's one of my overwinters. The Maui Purple. The flowers have set and soon the chili's will form...........yea

And finally another overwinter and was an over-achiever/producer last season. That's why its here. It's's the TS Butch T

More to follow, soon

wallpaper worthy pics there. Loving the sea of green
Thanks, for the kind words.....I'm curious what all the plants will look like when brought outside
Greg- you have a regular Sherwood forest going on there,l have to say they are all that awesome shade of green that screams we are ready to burst!!!!
Thanks Gun,
I'm looking forward to see how fast these plants produce, under the natural "sun" light
Hey Greg. Nice plants. Your last years grow looks like an army ready to conquer. Your pic with the pods looks like its factory harvesting those pods. Always willing to learn from your mistakes and success. If love to taste some of your favorite pods. :)
Ha............I'm still learning from my mistakes, and trying to tweek any success.
Favorite pods......That can be arranged when available, send me a PM mid summer

Greg

Wow, Greg...Congrats on an absolutely gorgeous grow—If there was a Wikipedia entry for "robust chile plants" it would feature that one photo of the mass of green foliage...I can't wait to see all those babies in your backyard garden!

The 5 Congo Trinidad plants from your seeds are bustin' a move down here in Louisiana. They've been outside for about a month now, in 6-inch containers, and are jonesin' to be in the native dirt. I know it's not cool to rename a chile to make an already established, stable variety your own (not that anyone on the THP would do that) but sometimes I can't help but tell people "These are my 'Congo Chicago' babies." :P

Just a minit, I'm going down the hill to take a picture....

Hey Gary,

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the latest update!

That's Great hearing about the Congo's . Its cool that you keep me informed.
I've sent free seed packs to folks here in the past .......it's rare ..but sometimes not even a thank-you.....what's that all about.............lol
But you sir, are professional!
Got'ta promise to make some hot sauce with them and send a bottle my way, and I'll shoot you a mix back.
Looking forward to seeing a photo........my plants are still indoors under the lights

Greg

Okay, here they are, some happy little fellas. You may not be able to read those labels, but they say "Congo Greg:"

Thank you for the kind words, sir...I could remind you of your generous gift of fine, hand-crafted chile sauces, but I won't, because for me the joy is in all this is the sharing, rather than any point-for-point give-and-take... :P

And now that you mentioned it, from the fruit of these plants I mean to craft some of my own simple chile-and-lime-pulp puree for sharing with true chileheads...

Cool man,

I envy your warm weather and the extended growing season you have down in Louie.

It would be nice to see you get a few extra harvests out of those this season,

Greg

Greg you are truly a master gardner. :woohoo: Always inspriational to look at your grow. I have several yellow brains and butch t's you sent me slowly growing. A couple others as well. Thank you again!

Jamie

Hey Greg - Yes I did move back to the UK, work bought me back  . Its not all bad though just means I got to start my season all over again - My germination method is really coming along and I'm getting good at that at least. I will post pics soon. Space is now limitted so only got a few on the go, including a few of your Yellow Scorps, Fatallis and Jonahs :onfire:

Looking great. You need some miniature fauna to live in that canopy. It looks like a wonderful jungle of dangerous heat. I see some great varieties in there

What is the flavor like on the peach kitchen pepper?

Absolutely great, Greg! You have perfected the indoor urban grow out,
for sure! Always enjoy seeing how you do things, and how successful
your grow is. Proof in reality of how important careful planning and attention
to detail are. Having seen the patio and grow rooms in previous posts,
I can't wait to see it all come together with the plants outside in the
midwest sun!

Have a great growing weekend, my friend, and thanks for all your help and
suggestions since I started here on THP!

I may be a relative new comer, but I too have experienced some newbie not even saying thankyou.

Its a shame. Maybe they are related to Laserguy... or lack a mother.

I'm with everyone else, I thought I had missed your update due to all that's going on over here and all the other glogs, but now I see its been 27 days since your last update. Foo on you Greg :)

No but seriously, hope things are well for you man :)

Trimming some old leaf-age from a Yellow Bhut Jolokia

Your Yellow Bhuts from 2011 were interesting, different from how mine turned out which I also really enjoyed. Are just growing the overwinter or did you start some from seed as well? I also have an overwinter plus one small plant from seed, wish I started a few more though.

Greg, I've been meaning to get over here to tell you thank you for the seeds you sent me. Really great germination rate, well over 90%. Can't wait till we can move into our new house and I can get them in the ground. Right now I'm searching around for some 1 gallon nursary pots that I can move some of them into to keep them going till then. There are also alot of friends and family that would say thanks. My germination rate was so high I had to give a bunch away. So, you have blessed alot of people here with your generosity.

Thanks

Alright Greg where is the update?? ;) Sorry I haven't checked in on your plant porn lately but I am sure you will update soon and make it all ok again :D I have been having withdrawals from THP so its good to be back
