PIC 1's......Pod Pornage.............2012

Here's the start on my grow log. Well no pods yet but I have to start somewhere, and away we go!

The seeds in the containers are all c.chinense. They were dunked in a germinating solution for an over-nighter on December 1st.
This was the first phase of the germination process with plantings happening every 2 weeks through the month of January.
The annum species and the mild/medium strains will get planted late Jan through early Feb.

Most of these are "Super-hots.

Here's a shot from today, things are looking up and up.

IMG_2132.jpg

Here's a unique looking seedling. It has 3 cotyledon's and a set of 3 true leaves. The seedling is a Trinidad Scorpion Green, seeds are from Chris (cc). I've seen the triple cotyledon with my Coronong's but not the triple set of true leaves at the same time

Here's another seedling that caught my eye. The leaves are as dark purple as my Dutch.Hot's. This one's the Purple Bhut Jolokia seeds were also from Chris. I know the leaves will eventually turn green.....but right now they look pretty...

Did somebody say "Purple"......Here's one of my overwinters. The Maui Purple. The flowers have set and soon the chili's will form...........yea

And finally another overwinter and was an over-achiever/producer last season. That's why its here. It's's the TS Butch T

More to follow, soon

Greg

How do you like your possum Greg? Fallin' off the bones tender or with a little fight left in it?

Hey uncle Jed, ...Granny's got some possum smoking..............hmmmmmmm.......doggie's!!! Jethro I'm on my way....Granny can sure "fetch'em and fix'em".....................lol

Loosen up your "rope" and enjoy that bloody mary. That had to be a "Baer" digging through that jungle. You are a beaut my man. Seems like the shows you watched growing up, were reruns when I was growing up. Never knew his dad was a heavyweight champ until I watched the movie "Cinderella Man". Enjoy your weekend sir.

Ha,.........."Max Baer" was the fighter....."Junior" was the lover................just ask Ms Hathoway!

Nice bowl o' peppers, Gregg! When I look at your array
of patio plants, I see nothing but pods in your future!

Thanks Paul,
I'm slowly starting to get new waves of flowers on the plants. The 100 deg temps are gone and the evenings are dropping down to the mid 70's. Its perfect pepper weather!

That shot right there just oozes awesomeness, Greg!

Thanks........that's a cool compliment!

Simply amazing Greg. What a beautiful pic with the bloody and all the pods. Not too long and I'll be joinin the club! Your pods are huge!

"Yellow Bonnets"

IMG_4032.jpg

"The Breakfest of Champions"..........A "Jethro" size cereal bowl, not your typical Chex Mix..................Ha
Here's this mornings harvest......the amount is gradually starting to pickup. There's nothing like a spiked up "Bloody Mary" to round out the todays pick!

Til next week,

Greg

Amazing. Love the look of those bonnets! And one with a stinger, cool. The bowl of peppers is amazing too. This looks like one of those pictures that are good to look at in January or so.

Greg that is an amazing shot with the plants in the background. The yellow bonnets with the tail is amazing pod variation. I can not wait to see you start pulling out the big tubs for harvesting.

Pods look amazing Greg the picture of the kitchenpepper different stages to ripeness is amazing

Thanks SC..........I'd like to try to get as many varieties photographed before the end of the season...............if only the weather would cool down a bit I have some plants with only flowers on them...................... :tear:

I love the style of those pepper 'mugshots!' The douglah cross is almost Nick Nolte wild. How is that kitchen pepper in terms of flavor and heat?

Like the pod pics, looks like a garden encyclopedia!
Hope your weather is continuing to moderate for ya.
We've got four 90-100 degree days in the forecast
for Friday through Monday. That's warm for here,
but not unusual. Will lose a lot of flowers and mini
pods probably.

Good growin', bro!

Very nice peppers! My kung paos look a bit different, and have more of a taper to them. Where did you get the seeds for yours?

Finally made it back around-fine pod shots Greg! Loving that patio "bowl of skittles/orchard " shot.
DeNNiZ:"[background=rgb(255, 244, 228)]Man. Those peppers look like skittles. Makes me wanna put a mouthful and taste the rainbow.[/background][background=rgb(255, 244, 228)]"[/background]
[background=rgb(255, 244, 228)]We just request that you video the "Skittles Vittles Episode"...[/background]
[background=rgb(255, 244, 228)]Glad you posted that Fat /Cleo pic...I needed some reassurance -I had 3 different plants come out with this cross-but it is a keeper I love the taste, and just had one for the midnight meal(breakfast for me)![/background]
[background=rgb(255, 244, 228)]Have a good one -[/background]
[background=rgb(255, 244, 228)]Dave[/background]

Ha....................."Encyclopedia...................or......................Pic-o-pedia".............not tha tmany entries though...........
Paul the upper 90's low 100's are no party for the plants, we've had alot of that this year. My plants looked terribly dehydrated yesterday.
I gave the light weight containers a drink of water...........and then I had a drink myself. This morning I brought a tray of plants from to grow room to spend the day outdoors and i noticed all the outdoor plants recouped with the 70 deg overnight temps.
Good luck with the weekend weather.....you shouldn't lose anything.......cause you'll have those "green thumbs" workin...

Greg

Very nice peppers! My kung paos look a bit different, and have more of a taper to them. Where did you get the seeds for yours?

Stefan,
The Kung Pao's were from "Lake Valley" seed co.

Good description of the Cajamarca, just as I remember them from last year.

I have the Cajamarca growing this year also. its a great producer. I just don't care for the "raw" taste to it, but since I spend alot of my time at home "Slaving Over a Hot Stove" I can always find a way to incorporate those into a dish.

I am so lacking in my pod-shot skills! You are the Pod Pic Master!

Sure..........................what the heck........................I'll except it........................lol................. :woohoo:

The Goat peppers are some of the coolest pods I have ever seen. Great pictures.

Thanks Noah,
I compared the taste straight up against a ripe Scotch Bonnet and the Goat had a fruity, mellow upfront taste............not that typical harsh citric bite that some of congo/habs have...

There is not enough of this stuff. Gives me that feeling like when you scratch a dog in the right spot. My one leg is running on it's own!
Matt started taking detailed and labeled photos also. Very beneficial to us,and would be growers. I am glad you decided to incorporate this weekly. Is the lighting one of your t8s raised up pretty high over the pods? Not a very dark shadow in those shots.
