Whoooo ! A guitar thread !
So here is mine :
It's my MD-50 made by the luthier Maurice Dupont (
website). He made it for me in Jan 2004.
When you play properly it sounds like this :
Just kidding. This one is the famous Selmer 504 owned by Stochelo Rosenberg (this mother fu**** sold it !!), Django Reinhardt used to play on the 503 to give your an idea of how valuable the 504 is (for the little story, Eric Clapton tried to buy the 504 but Stochelo refused).
Edit : and by the way I will tell my little story around guitar if it interest someone :
I started playing the guitar quite late, in 2000. When I asked my mother for a guitar for Christmas, she offered it to me and she told me that this acoustic Fender will end up in the under roof like most of my passing fancy. Since that Christmas I've been playing guitar nearly everyday and will keep doing it until I die.
Like most of the teenager I guess, I started playing Rock & Roll stuff and blues like Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, etc. One day a friend came to me at the school yard and lend me a CD of Django Reinhardt. I had never heard of him at that time and it was not my kind of music. It changed my life forever. I stuck on it : all the feelings and emotions of the world are in his music. It is something I can't explain, but it's a very common decease with Django's music that Woody Allen tried to explain in the film "Sweet & Lowdown". I really hope that something like that will happen again in my life but I doubt it.
Django took my hand and led me to Jazz like Charlie Christian, Charles Mingus, Joe Pass, Charlie Parker, Deezy, Coltrane, etc. When I was 18 my musical life was all around Jazz.
Now I play less Jazz even if I still do. I play more flamenco, first because I love Flamenco and then because during all these years of Gipsy Jazz & Jazz, I completely forgot that I had 5 fingers on the right hand and not only a pick made of bone.
By the way, if you like Flamenco and want a pure moment of joy during which your feet won't touch the ground listen to this :
