You said, 'I've only been playing guitar for a little while" so what's your point HNB?HopsNBarley said:Questions? Comments?
I am trying to learn from those who already know what is best.Proud Marine Dad said:You said, 'I've only been playing guitar for a little while" so what's your point HNB?
Proud Marine Dad said:Not as easy to do bends though.
You liked the low action huh? Les Paul's are nice in that regard.
Then how can you call something a "fact" when you are so inexperienced? lolHopsNBarley said:I am trying to learn from those who already know what is best.
Thank you
Mine strat is blocked. I can bend the 2nd string under the 3rd and 4th and maybe 5th and still stay in tune.lucilanga said:I'm curious to see a strat holding tune with a broken string.
I think I liked the extra fret more LOLProud Marine Dad said:Not as easy to do bends though.

Come on over and try my Carvin DC127, it has 24 frets.THECHRISE said:I think I liked the extra fret more LOL
No argument there my friend. How about this. It's harder to bend using 13's than 8's. Fact!

Stevie Ray Vaughan had big, strong hands to do that. Amazing!
Phil said:Oh, hey Siccy... I installed those EMGs today. Those bad boys SCREAM! Love the pinch harmonics and sustain I get out of 'em. Thanks!
I thought I already asked.sicman said:no one even wants to ask about that burnt head? fuct yall
I use D'Addario XL10's only. Best string I have ever used and I have never had one break. I think Texas Blues said the same thing a while back.THECHRISE said:Cool. I used to use 0.11's and 0.12's (3rd unwound) because of SRV. Now I think I am using coated 10.5 - 50's now.
Phil said:Strat thread is at a standstill until the lacquer cures enough to handle. Been about a week now. Plus, I'm waiting for good weather. My only work space is outside, and it's been rainy the past few weekends. Here are some Ibanez pics. I bucked conventional wisdom and put the 85 in the bridge, and the 81 at the neck, and it sounds GOOD out of my little Line 6 Spider IV 15 watt amp.
Cleaned the fretboard, treated it with some linseed oil, and put new strings on.... Dean Markley Blue Steel .009s are my favorite.
It needs a fret job, but I'll save that until I have a good workspace.
I checked the intonation, and that high E is still a little sharp on the 12th. but I'm afraid to dial it out anymore... don't want that saddle flying free on me.
