Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

I have decided to start a dedicated Grow Log for
the Purple Thunder Bhut Jolokia hybrid.

It made its first appearance in 2015:
"This coloration might be the result of the intense
light on these red Bhuts, but only 2/6 show the trait.
If it is a cross, the only purple-y plant near the bhut
was Trippa's Mystery Cross. All of these seeds from
the same pod:"

Paul-My wife, who doesn't speak any English says that your plants are "Muy linda-Hermosa!"  There are also photo's posted of your plants on the seed savers forum called Green Country Seed Savers Forum.
The photo's speak for themselves.  Again, thanx for sharing them.
Heres a look at some Purple Thunder pods harvested yesterday.

BJh-4 along with some Yellow BrainStrain:

BJh-Mystery. This plant has the largest pods overall:

I have to admit that I have never seen pods with color variations like this.  I assume that eventually the colors are going to stablize?  Good job.  Where did you buy the mesh material to cover the pods?  I need some.  Here in Panama I have no idea where I would buy any.  Someone suggested I buy a mosquito net and cut it to make bags in sizes I need to isolate blooms.  That's probably what I will have to do.

My prediction is that 3 of the cross will continue to produce
the reddish-orange/dark purple shaded  pods. I hope BJh-2
continues to produce the yellow/caramel bi-colored pods!

The bags are produce bags to use when shopping. We get
them in the grocery stores here. They can be used to replace
plastic bags in the fruit and vegetable section. They are very
handy n the garden.

The mosquito netting is a good idea.

Here I was thinking you were using paint strainer bags. Here we just have plastic bags in produce section. I prefer using paper bags because produce sweats in plastic bags.

Impressive plants and pods Paul. Well done!

Very nice work Paul, those crosses are producing some beautiful pods! What a lovely way to get home from what sounded like an awesome trip. :)

And its only fair you're getting rewarded with copious pods after all the hard work you have put in!

Very unique colors.  Have you tried making any hot sauce yet?
Have not, Glen. I'm drying these at low temp (100˚F/34˚C)
for seeds and powder this season.

Thanks, Erv. We really enjoyed Ireland, our first visit there.
A lot of the scenery and weather reminded me of the maritime
climate of the Oregon Pacific Coast and Coast Mountain Range.

As for the pods, I am grateful for what we are getting after a sort
of ragged six weeks early on which set things back a lot. There are
two 36-37˚F (~2˚C) on the forecast in the next four days, so that may
be the death knell for the 2019 season. We'll see who the toughest are!

Just awesome pods there Paul!

The BJh-2 pod coloration is crazy!
Right on, Scott! That yellow/caramel coloration is
pretty cool. Not bad for an accidental cross

I'm pleased by the productivity of all the plants.
They show a lot of the same traits as the PdNxBMJ
cross. Rangy branches loaded with pods.

Thanks, DR. I have to give credit to plant genetics and
letting Mother Nature take her course. You could probably
train a monkey to do what I do
