RocketMan 2014 - Resurrection

Wow, first growing season in the new house and I'm totally stoked for this one. Lots of prep work still to be done but there's plenty of time to get it done before plant out. So, here is a pic of where Pepper Row will be going in:

I'll be coming out about another 18 to 24 inches from the fence. The brick line will move out to the new edge and the Ivey will be kept cut back to wher it is now so the fence doesn't show through, she who must be obeyed has made it known that she doesn't want to see it :)

I'm still working on the list and as these will probably be in for a while I'm actually thinking about rather a short list using the peppers I use most often in sauces but can't get locally like Fataliis and planting 3 or 4 of each.

The other, non-pepper stuff will be growing in the big bed at the end of the row. We'll be putting in raised beds there but first I have to remove this bast@rd:

Yeah, I think the big thing is the temp of the soil. Last 2 seasons I started later and outside where it was nice and warm. Now I'm starting indoors where it's warm but not as warm as before.

Announcing the engagement of my daughter to Lance Corporal Antonio Sanchez Chariglione!

Very exciting time at the Launch Pad as mom and daughter get to start planning a wedding   and I get to pay all the bills

They're looking at an August wedding after which she'll join him in San Diego where he's stationed.

Hey Bill (father-of-the-bride).....congrats to your daughter !

My daughter is getting married this June..........have plenty of ink in the pen and a full checkbook .................. ..............just kiddin.

How are your plants doing..are they outdoors in the ground ?

Thanks everyone, I'll pass al of your congrats to them.

Greg, I'm stumped on the seedlings. They all germinated fine but after 2 weeks in the dirt I've got nothing coming up. Weather is supposed to be in the 70's and 80's for next week so thinking about moving them outside.

:mope:

Germination woes just happen bro'... If you started them on a heat pad and took them off after transplanting to soil that might explain it. That's what happened to mine. Just be patient, they'll pop a week or so after the transplant unless it's really cold where you have them now.

Congrats to all concerned on your daughter's engagement. That'll go a ways towards freeing up the bathroom in August... ;)

Well, this is my 3rd year growing and the last 2 I kind of breezed through so guess it's just my turn :)

It'll be more like late September or October when she'll be able to join him in San Diego. He has to get his BAH and Separate Rats coming in and find a place for them to live. Fortunately CA has a pretty high rate to off set the high cost of living there. I'm hoping he can get on base housing arranged for but we'll see.

Just catching up on your glog, congrats to your daughters engagement! What branch of military is fiance in? I'm guessing Marines. I had a brother stationed at Camp Pendelton.

As far as your germeniation problems, really weird that after two weeks you dont have anything hookin. If it were me i would sacrifice one and dig it up to see whats going on. If your careful you can set in a bowl of water and the dirt will separate and then if all is good you can put back in new soil. When is your plant out date?

Also whats in your Ground Zero ferment? is this posted somewhere?

Yep, he's a Marine :)

Ground Zero is here: http://thehotpepper.com/topic/44026-rocketman-2014-pepper-row-daughter-1-is-engaged/page-9#entry962038

and here's the original Ground Zero: http://thehotpepper.com/topic/26166-rocketmans-first-superhot-sauce/#entry524385

Basically Ground Zero is what I'm calling any sauce I make with what ever Super Hot pods I happen to have laying around when I decide to make some :)

Congrats, Bill! I just got off phone with bro injured in motorcycle wreck. His daughter did same thing. He suggests finding some city near you, several stories, usually have a dumbwaiter shaft between buildings and if one side's a bank, drill baby drill . . . they're in Germany temporarily and he's been acquainted (for few years) with some uh, "ink." Seriously: congratulations!!

Smoked green jals are vastly underrated as powders. Yum. Also, I'm with the bottom water and give them some sunshine/heat! Thank you so much for all you've taught me about fermentation sweetie!

Hope to see hooks soon! Annie

Half were smoked for 4 hours with Applewood and the other half werjust dried. Gave it a great smoky Jalapeño flavor.

nice color on that! I bet it tastes great.
Good luck with your seeds popping!
