RocketMan's 2013 Glog; In The House!!

There are no gardening mistakes, only experiments." -- Janet Kilburn Phillips

I love that quote and it will try my best to remember it through this new grow. So, I'm going with only 18 varities this year as we're looking at moving to a larger house if not buying this summer and I really don't want to have to try and haul a ton of plants when we do. the ones I've selected are:

1. 7 Pot Jonah---------------------------- Pic 1
2. Aji Lemon------------------------------- romy6
3. Chili De Arbol Negro------------------ smokemaster via SocalChilihead
4. Datil-------------------------------------- Pic 1
5. Fatalii------------------------------------ Pic 1
6. Gochu----------------------------------- Stickman
7. Red Savania--------------------------- Pic 1
8. Chocolate Habanero----------------- Pic 1
9. West Indian Yellow Habanero------ Pic 1
10. Jalabanero---------------------------- SocalChilihead
11. Jalapeno------------------------------- frydad4
12. Douglah-------------------------------- Pic 1
13. Peruvian White Habanero---------- ????
14. Scotch Bonnet Jamican Red------- Pic 1
15. Thai Short----------------------------- Lieban
16. Jamican Hot Chocolate------------- ????
17. Butch T-------------------------------- Pic 1
18. T Scorpion Yellow------------------- Pic 1

Here's the layout and they went into the dirt.

Alot of them are ones i started last year that never grew beyond a certain point and I'm pretty sure that a lot of it was my new grower mistakes. Since I really want to try them I'm giving them a grow again. Once again, thanks to everyone that helped me getting started with gifts of seeds and to all on here thanks for leaving your incredable words of wisdom that we can all learn from.

Cheers to a bountiful grow this year.

Just remember, your water quality is very important with aerated tea. 8.3 is way up there. you have that thing calibrated? also, use your quanos and ferts as soil amendments as its not neccessary in your tea. water, compost, and oxygen are all you need.

Oh cool - I didn't notice in the 'digest' emails that you had gotten started brewing (no pics) ...

I'm sure it'll bring results!

The one time I used a little fert I didn't get much foam either, but the plants still responded well to the drench (was my first batch) ...

Best wishes on the grow =)

Hummm, what have we here?

Day 2, added some grass from the yard last night when I got home and there's just a tiny bit if foam and just a touch of fush smell but not too bad this morning

FBCD91C6-ECC2-4D11-9B2A-E2BA823B00D3-1316-00000226307C40F7_zps4012fb7b.jpg

but tonight I'll be spraying the plants and a little drench on the roots :)

The acid test is what your neighbors have to say about the smell in a few days... ;)  I'll be checking in for the results!

I picked up about a pound of red Habaneros that are in the freezer currently. What would you recommend to ferment with them to make a good tasting sauce with some real bite?

Well amid the on again off again rain from Tropical Storm Andrea last night as she made her way to shore I was able to find a period where it wasn't raining to get out and snap some before pics and feed the plants some tea. Mind you these pics are taken after dark and with a flash so the color might be just a bit off.

Everything got a nice drench for the roots and a good spray of the leaves top and bottom. I'll give them till Saturday and we'll see what they look like. I'm hoping we'll see something really good :)

It's Friday Eve, so have a good one

TEA!  Since you went fungal with the shroom 'post, fungally dominated teas just foam less, usually; sometimes oil from fish emulsion prevents a lot of foam--looks like great tea!--no worries if it didn't have lots foam. Liking that "Chocolate Something"!! Nice big pods. Pineapple hot salsa!! :drooling: Please be safe in Andrea! Peace.

Andrea, you ignorant Beotch, go away and quit knocking over my Fatalii!

Rick, haven't forgotten ya Bro. 1 pound of Red Habs, hum, well for a Savory sauce you can't really go wrong using Onion, Carrots, and garlic or for a sweeter sauce you could go with onion, mango, Carrots and maybe some pineapple. If your going to ferment the sweet sauce then I'd save the pineapple for after the ferment that way your getting a touch of sweetness added but not over the top. If your going to just make the sauce then use some lime, lemon or Rice Vinegar for acid to bring down the ph.

Looking good Bill, I too have gotten very interested in the tea brewing. We're going through some financial distress at the moment so I've been picking stuff up here and there at the store but here in a couple weeks I should have all the necessary components and will be one tea brewing bastard.

Thanks Bill, I've used up or gifted the last of my Orange Hab sauce from last year, so it's time to make some more...

Bill tings look great, hope you don't get too much wind and rain ... tail end of the tropical storm is producing some very high winds here but rain has dried up till later today I think. Good luck on the pineapple it will take some patience ...

Yeah, once you have the initial equipment the price goes way down on Ferts.

Thanks Ramon, the Pineapple is really for fun. I was also reading that Myers Lemon's are really easy to clone too.  So I'm planning on getting a couple of snips off my mom's tree and clone them up. They also do really well in containers and still give full size fruit. I have the perfect spot for a couple of trees at the dream home too.

Haha...She only knocked off a few pods...I wouldn't call her names just yet, She's likely to have a whole slew of pissed off sisters after you guys here shortly! Glad the damage was minimal brother...now lets hope the folks along the east coast do as well!

Well, Andrea has left the area. Hoping that anyone else having to deal with her makes it through ok. So, other than the 2 Pods that she blew off before they fully ripened, I have them in a bag with some banana peel to finish up, here are some pics of how the plants are looking:

The babies were the least affected by it as they were under the protection of the porch.
