RocketMan's 2013 Glog; In The House!!

There are no gardening mistakes, only experiments." -- Janet Kilburn Phillips

I love that quote and it will try my best to remember it through this new grow. So, I'm going with only 18 varities this year as we're looking at moving to a larger house if not buying this summer and I really don't want to have to try and haul a ton of plants when we do. the ones I've selected are:

1. 7 Pot Jonah---------------------------- Pic 1
2. Aji Lemon------------------------------- romy6
3. Chili De Arbol Negro------------------ smokemaster via SocalChilihead
4. Datil-------------------------------------- Pic 1
5. Fatalii------------------------------------ Pic 1
6. Gochu----------------------------------- Stickman
7. Red Savania--------------------------- Pic 1
8. Chocolate Habanero----------------- Pic 1

Alot of them are ones i started last year that never grew beyond a certain point and I'm pretty sure that a lot of it was my new grower mistakes. Since I really want to try them I'm giving them a grow again. Once again, thanks to everyone that helped me getting started with gifts of seeds and to all on here thanks for leaving your incredable words of wisdom that we can all learn from.

Cheers to a bountiful grow this year.

Man, all weekend packing and I've found some muscles I haven't used since I was last on Active Duty. Also think I got a little kick start on getting this body started towards getting back in shape again. Just have to remember not to stop moving so I don't start to tighten up. Scale says I lost 3 pounds, probably water, but now just another 75 pounds to go to get back to what I weighed when I got to basic training.

Nice pull yesterday for this early in the season and starting from a dead stop... Have you sampled any of the mystery peppers yet?

Came home to a really nice Box-O-Heat from Jamie today.

Featuring a Yellow Primo and a Madballz. These are going to be added to the other peppers from Jamie and going into something nice after we get moved.

Yellow Primo, quick taste yummmmm,
Oweee, hotttttt!

Just found this on my plants

:)

Edit: ok, so the stuck in the pot said Fatalii and the first couple of pods off of this plant were kind of Fatalii shaped. Now the pods it's putting on are like this one. Could this possibly be a Red Savina? Not sure what else it could be. Good thing I love a good mystery :)

Well, Rick conducts his Dawn Patrol and we all love seeing that. So this morning, since Im off for packing and moving, I conducted an age old military tradition called Stand To and whilst standing to, with a nice hot cup-a joe, I found this

That's 5 off the mystery plant and 1 off the mystery Fatalii

On the bad side though I also found this

This is some kind of poo that's around the base of the Fatalii and around the tomatoes.

There were 2 peppers chewed on, didn't get pics. And a couple of areas stripped of leaves.

Thinking about making either some garlic tea or Rosemary Oil spray to put on them. Would love to hear any thought on what it might be. The poop sure looks like a rabbit but I've never seen one in my yard.

Chileheads are the best.......nice score from Jamie !

That's some major plant damage.....we've got rabbits around here Elmer...Bill, but I haven't seen any plant pruning though.

Good luck with the move......hope it runs smoothly for you.

Ouch, that looks like caterpillar poop. I'd say a cutworm or hornworm. Since it happened at night I'm leaning towards a cutworm. The good news is that your plants are so big that you only lost leaves and branches. If they'd been seedlings it would have sawed them off flush with the ground. Look for a grey/green caterpillar buried in the soil around the plants chewed on. It won't be very deep... maybe an inch or 2 down. At first light, they like to bury themselves in the ground next to their previous night's meal, then come out again the next night to get some more.

Was that stand-to or police call? ;)  Nice pull again brother, and thanks muchly for the bottles of sauce! As you said, they were waiting in the mailbox when I got home from work. I'm thinking Beer Brats with the Wasabi sauce this weekend! Cheers!

+ 1 with Rick. That green poop is PROBABLY cutworm or hornworm. Could try going out with blacklight--fishing stores carry them--mofos glow. Pluck, destroy . . . kinda fun to watch them die too! A fermentation room . . . wow! And you have EXCELLENT reason to go there, Mr. Sauce Master!

Def a big hornworm.  Scoop up the poop and use it though.  Put it around the base of the plants and water in.

Mill is that a 1 year old plant? I thought it would take longer than that to get to there is what I was trying to say. If that's a 1 year old great job :)

Yeah, it was a new start last year march(12).

Good eyes Shane, search and destroy located

Mr Hornworm, who died if wounds received when he tried to take on my pruning shears bear horned. He is survived by a crap load of poo he left on my deck.

It's 18' X 25' The playground set and rubber mulch will go and there's a tree stump and some roots that will need to be removed, Matt know where I can get some C4 :) and here is going to be Pepper Row:

The bricks are 18" from the fence so I'll need to come out about another foot and the plant then where the bricks are now I think.
