RocketMan's 2013 Glog; In The House!!

There are no gardening mistakes, only experiments." -- Janet Kilburn Phillips

I love that quote and it will try my best to remember it through this new grow. So, I'm going with only 18 varities this year as we're looking at moving to a larger house if not buying this summer and I really don't want to have to try and haul a ton of plants when we do. the ones I've selected are:

Alot of them are ones i started last year that never grew beyond a certain point and I'm pretty sure that a lot of it was my new grower mistakes. Since I really want to try them I'm giving them a grow again. Once again, thanks to everyone that helped me getting started with gifts of seeds and to all on here thanks for leaving your incredable words of wisdom that we can all learn from.

Cheers to a bountiful grow this year.

As a mater-of-fact, pun intended, they're doing very well
This is the best looking one but both are this size in 3 gallon root pouches

Love all the photos I've learned more from seeing what others have done that by reading I think. Have a question for you if you want to divulge your secrets. I've set everything into the garden finally but how does your water system work for the red solo cups? What is the setup? Did you just punch holes in the bottom or cut away a major portion of the bottom? Thanks for the info.

Hi capehog and thanks for stopping by. For the solos I built a simple frameand lined it with plastic trash bags so it would hold water. The cups themselves are drilled to the 4 winds with a 3/8" bit. Its long enough to go through both sides of the cup. Then just add water / fert's to the water to bottom water and feed.

That Thai is just loaded with pods and from the looks of it, the other mature plants are not far behind. The little guys in the Solo cups look like they like the bottom watering!

That Thai Short has been a steady producer while the others were fighting for life against something. They're making a comeback now though. The little ones in the Solos are truly loving it. They were struggling some before i buile that frame and moved them in, with top watering. I've given them a tiny bit of ferts and watered them till the cups felt heavy and they're loving life now.

[sub]Very nice! Good luck with your 2013 season.[/sub]

Thank you, good luck to you as well.

Have a great week everyone!

Wowza everything looks great, little one's, soon come pods and the pods to pick off the Thai. It's great you'll be getting a house soon, will be nice to have some of your plants in the ground where you can hang your hat and call home :)

Edit: forgot to mention, I like getto rigs and that one seems to work just fine :)

Nope have to wait a couple of months before we can make the offer. Dang ernest money, they're wanting more than we planned on. Praying it's still there.

Well, we haven't made an offer yet so there's no problem with it right now, we were just planning on less than the owner is requiring and it seems like it's different buying ahouse in Florida than it was in Texas. Like you said Ramon, if we're menat to have that house then it will still be there when we're ready to make an offer.

I'm sure things have changed some since I bought our house and I haven't practiced real estate in years. Yea like everyone and their brother in FL I too have a license, lol. What I did when we bought was make an offer with a deposit (earnest money) much less than the seller was asking, funny enough they called me to ask if I was serious and I just said, counter me and we'll talk. To make a long story short as it was long back and forth, we ended up striking a deal. Good Great luck to you and the family in your negotiations :)

We're having a heck of a time dealing with our current landlord. He was great while we were renting from him but now his only concern is getting a new renter in and won't even consider letting us go month to month. So, the kids are out of school on Jun 5 and soon after we'll be moving out. I'll find a corporate hotel room or apt till we find a place and the wife and kids are going to stay with her mom. We're planning to make an offer around end of June and hope that the house we love will still be available but understand if it's not. If it's meant to be, it'll still be there.

Looking good RM...good luck keeping the kids/toys away from the plants, there are some things in life that just must be accepted.

Yep, aint that the truth. I can hope / warn / bribe / did I say warn, the kids to be careful but in full on fun it's hard for them to remember things.

Went and built me a ghetto rig just like yours!

Ghetto, the only way to go! Make sure to post up some pics :)

Good luck on the house, man! It's one of those things that really eats at you from offer to close of escrow. Then you have the move to look forward to. :D

Seriously, though, I get it. We're in a similar boat here.
