I love sandwiches, but eating them day in and day out on the job gets to me.
And no, I'm not going to eat a salad when it's 18º outside.

This thread has given me some great ideas to spruce up the boring old, make-it-in-5-minutes-at-5:30am, lunchbox sandwich!
Nothing fancy, mind you, but there have been some great ideas/ways to take dull and make it a real lunch treat!!!!

Yeah ... Salad in the winter is a no-go ... When it's cold I like to eat curry and rice, chili, etc ... Zojirushi makes these vacuum canisters that can keep a bowl of chili reasonably hot the whole morning until lunch time ...

Sliced chickie a la Frank's...

Chicken, red onion w/ 'shrooms, and Ranch-Jalapeno Cream Cheese splooge...

I clicked on here thinking "scheeze schteak" but instead somebody did the Jedi mind trick on me and I'm looking at Frank's, schicken, and ranch jalapeno cream cheese splooge!

You can Jedi mind fork me ALL DAY LONG with that girl!

The sammich looks awesome and the slaw looks like a perfecto side to go with it.

I reckon the Cuban and the Cheese Steak SOTM were a big damn hit.

Still a couple days for more Cheese Steaks.

I don't know if we ever settled on next month.

Since so much cheese was involved this month, I'd personally like to see Po' Boy's.

Oyster, shrimp, roast beef, whatever.

Im down, and agree on the cheese thang.

But you have to promise a grilled cheese interpretation in, say, November.

Imagine, a killer grilled cheese and a bowl of tomato soup on a fall evening.

I vote for po boys for the waning days of summer. And mine's gonna be conch.

November would be good for the grilled cheese 'thang.

Especially with all the soon to come holiday food, grilled cheese is easy peazy and not a heap of labor or bling bling involved.

If I made an oyster one, Scovie would move out so.....I'm leaning toward shrimp, if Po' Boys are the pick!

I fully agree on postponing grilled cheese ... I had suggested it ...

The reason I had suggested grilled cheese was because it seemed like we were making a lot of costly stuff, that's all ...

I've never had a Po'Boy ... am familiar w/ the legend, though ...

CJ - I've been eating rice cakes for lunch to stave off the weight gain ... this thread and the other have been bad for my health ...
