food Sandwich of the Month

Ah-HA!!!!! I found the fatal error in my French Bread debacle the other night!

My oven be broked!!!!!! (boo on the oven...yeah that there may be hope for my baking skeels after all!)

Broked overns are no good. Broked roofs are no good, too. Broked roofs over overns no good, too. Me got too much brokedenness right about now. But you? WHOOO HOOOOO for your next batch o' bread!

Actually, I've got a leak in the roof and it's the "rainy season" here, and the leak is coming into the kitchen through a cabinet between the oven and fridge. All that 'lectricity with water coming in so close is a little unnerving. Wish the yahoos would slap a tarp up there while they dinker around figuring out what to do to stop it....

Well - I finally DID IT!!!! (Scovie did the hard part!!!) :)

....and it was worth the wait and 'research'!!!!

First thing I did with the new oven....heated up french rolls. Not NOLA french, but Seattle International french.....very satisfying tho!!!!

Pics coming this afternoon........:D

not burnt in the slightest. it was damm moist too!

her remouladeedah was a bit salty, but really tasty.

sooooo which Manning am I?

Peyton? nah...

Eli? oh HAEL no!

them cajun boys prolly know about blackened catfish tho...

and we got a new oven. yep... new oven.

CJ I'm diggin' it!

Its also nice to see some actual "blackening" being put on that pheesh.

Too many chefs add a little cajun seasoning and grill it or fry it and call it blackened.

Fools.

What's in your remoulade spread?

Looks tasty and makin' my mouf' water!
