Nice one!
I read the book "1984" in 1985. Nothing had happened yet.

Our government is tring it here. For years they've been telling us what to think, what we should call certain people in case we offend them, what to eat, how we have to be a multi-cultural socity etc. And if you question anything they say you're called "insensitive", "racist", "bigot", "ignorant" and made to look like an idiot because you don't think like they do. Oh, and we have 25% of all the world's surveillance cameras - in an area of 50,000 square miles. Long live liberty!

I think it was at the point during the commercial where it stated "This film is not yet rated" that gave it away for me.;)

 I guess that would of been a great give away, I only saw parts of the commerical & never heard them say that. I jumped the gun with this thread & somewhat feel like a idiot for making this thread

but.....now lets wonder how many 2012 cults are out there right now ?

Do I think Human life will be wiped out in the next 100 years? Yes.

In 2012? NO.

why do you think within 100 years ?

to have the human race to be totally wiped out would have to be done by God (whatever God you pray to) or some kind of astroid hitting earth. otherwise I think humans will live beyond the year 2100 or starve our planet to death cuz of our population.

Nah, we can wipe ourselves out pritty quickly. Ever hear of the "Grey Goo Problem"?

The Grey Goo Problem address self replicating nanobots. They consume certain matter around them, convert it, and replicate. 1 becomes 2, 2 becomes 4, 4 becomes 8, etc etc. Within a short period of time (some estimate no less than 24 hours depending on the scenerio) and the whole world has been covered in a mass of nanobots that resembles a see of grey goo.

Many papers have been written on the subject and considering the amount of nanotech we have achived and done sefl replication already, it's a very real problem.

The only thing with these scenarios is that no-one seems to take into account the amount of time (or indeed if it's possible) it would take nanobots to adapt to any environment they would find themselves in. You can't for example dump a load of plankton in a desert and expect them to thrive.

Ya, but nanobots aren't living and really don't need to adapt persay. Even if they can't survive in a specific enviroment, the shear mass of numbers will cause a tidelwave of them flowing into that section. So they die, the place is still covered with them.

Can't read too much bud - can never know too much either. Knowledge is the font of power and all that.
