No lychee here, but the season of rambutan has started - it also is a member of the soapberry family and if you remove its skin, it somewhat resembles rambutan. Rainfall has been limited so far, however, and they are not as juicy as I'd like them to be. The mango season is definitely over here.
The birds finally noticed the Mangos in the tree and have been picking/knocking down two to three a day.
So, since I didn't want to share with them anymore...............I picked everything still hanging.
About 60 of them.
And I picked back a little.

They still develop like Bananas ?
Yes, they'll ripen on the counter in the house. At this stage they only take a few days to change to yellow. The ones in the store are usually green.dragonsfire said:

I got some cabbage plants and a couple of Kossak Kohlrabi planted out yesterday. I still have more to plant out. They are all started from seed.
Well, the bug-fest continues in my garden. (4) different hornworms on (4) different tomato plants. And they did considerable damage.

I just planted 3 containers of pole beans yesterday and thought............I might as well try these OLD seeds. We'll see what happens.

The beans are growing really fast now, almost can high seven days after sowing!
Bug inspection of the tomato plants turned up two, some brown one that I am forgetting the name of and of course a fairly young hornworm.

The first of the 2014 lima beans have started to germinate!
Grubs must have gotten up into one of the bean containers when they were sitting dormant, several new seedlings chewed off below ground level.

I'm hoping I'll have enough of those old lima beans germinate and grow out so I can add them to the cabbage I'm growing for a spicy lima bean/cabbage dish I found online. It looks like the Kentucky Blue are the best growing green beans here. I'm hoping to pickle a few of those in a spicy brine.
Those beans sure grow fast my friend.
Hope those pests leave you be for a while so your plants can get a foothold.
That's one thing about living here, the plants grow super fast if you can keep the bugs and pests at bay. Some you win and some you lose. I always try for more wins.
