SKULLBIKERS Fun with peppers in 2021 GLOG

And so it begins, another year of growing some peppers. This will be a sort of continuation of last year

as several of those plants are still going(and many got whacked and ended up on the burn pile).

Anyway, I have 3 trays of peppers sown and many have germinated already(mostly annums). I wanted to compare several different jalapeños for taste in real time. This tray is all jalapeños, ten types from 7 different vendors. The seeds in block 3 are from 2014.

Another tray with annums at each end and mostly rocotos in the middle(and they're taking their sweet time).

Looks like your crosses are bigger than mine.  I've been getting pods for a while now and they are tasty.  Just not big enough to stuff.  Mine are kept indoors and in small pots.  Maybe 1/2 gallon.  That probably has a lot to do with their size.  Im planning on putting them outside once the weather stays warm.  Also collecting lots of seeds to so I'll be considering a F3 grow also.

Yes, I believe your pods will be bigger when they are out of the small pots and the plants are bigger.

Nice going as always! Epic growing

Thank you. I saw in your glog that you have some decent looking plants going. Hopefully you will get enough of a season to collect a lot of pods.

I found a few Bombs in the garden this afternoon.
.
.
Cherry Bombs that is. Three different ones.
Time Bomb, Big Bomb(from saved seeds 2018, and those from 2016), and last the not Biker Biily Cherry Bombs from Burpee.

They're probably going into salsa tomorrow.

I took a walk around this morning in between rain showers and took a couple of pics.
The first of the Numex Jalapeno Orange Spice pods to ripen, it should be ready for a test in a day or two.

The "not" Biker Billy cherry bombs. I've had a couple of these and they're pretty good.

Some envy-inducing pods you have up there in Florida
It's too bad there are so many battles with pests and weather to get to that point. We just got done with 2 days/4 inches of on and off rain so I'm just about to go do a little dustin'. I just walked through the plants and spotted a few of those some-beach little green things.

The dusting is done, I did all the pepper plants mostly as preventative maintenance. Some plants had a few bugs on and many had none(at this time). I had one Brainstrain plant just getting mauled so I hit it extra heavy as shown in the pictures, the bugs nice white jackets will take care of them shortly!

When you get that shitton of money, you can move to Florida!

I was going to attend a conference in Boca Raton, but then Irma wrecked the place... Not sure why the organizing committee decided to plan the conference in the hurricane season. Perhaps I'd choose something safer, like Louisiana California Texas Oregon - but no year-round growing season there...   :D

I have since changed my mix ratio to 2 parts D.E. to 1 part Sevin Dust. I think there are YouTube videos on the Dustin-Mizer.
Think I have to get me one of those dusters. Looks so much easier than trying to shake out of the bottle. I had alittle mishap with the lid being loose on my Sevin bottle this afternoon. I bet all them bugs are dead though, lol.
