SKULLBIKERS Fun with peppers in 2021 GLOG

And so it begins, another year of growing some peppers. This will be a sort of continuation of last year

as several of those plants are still going(and many got whacked and ended up on the burn pile).

Anyway, I have 3 trays of peppers sown and many have germinated already(mostly annums). I wanted to compare several different jalapeños for taste in real time. This tray is all jalapeños, ten types from 7 different vendors. The seeds in block 3 are from 2014.

Another tray with annums at each end and mostly rocotos in the middle(and they're taking their sweet time).

It looks like your Equadorian Sweet Rocotos are doing even better than your Montufars this year.

The Equadorian Sweet plants are pounding them out good right now, massive output on the (nearly) 2 year old plants. But, it looks like one of the plants may croak now after the massive purge of pods. Kind of like a pepper plants last hurrah. Oh well, if they croak I'll plant more!

Pulled a few pods this morning.
Rocoto Montufar and Pineapple Rocoto, Gelbe Reisen Giant Yellow Rocoto and Brainstrain(with a few little baby brains), PeppaPeach and Equadorian Sweet. I don't think I'm going to get many Pineapple Rocoto pods as that plant now continues to deteriorate, at least I'll get a few seeds to replant.

It looks like the "big" Brainstrain plant is finally going to put out a fair amount of pods. A couple shots of branches.

Man! I wish I could grow rocotos like that.

Shoot, I wish I could grow rocotos period lol.

You can do it! Like the non-growers say.............just put the seeds in the dirt and wait to pick the fruit off the plant!!

And on that note, here's todays red Rocotos.
Rocoto Montufar, Giant Red Rocoto, Equadorian Sweet Rocoto, and the last three on the right are from an Equadorian Sweet Rocoto plant that's putting out some fairly large/flatish pods(the picture simply does not do them justice).

Well, I dodged the hurricane bullit so when the sun came out this afternoon I picked a few more pods.

The "big" Brainstrain plant is still going and growing but the branches are starting to bow from the weight of the pods, it's loaded.

Picked “just a few”[emoji106][emoji16]. That’s a awesome haul , for just a few. [emoji106][emoji16]
Thank you. Those PeppaPeach and Yellow Rocotos are both quite plentiful. The PeppaPeach are great pickled, and next I think I'll make some jelly when I have enough to juice 'em out. Same with the Yellow Rocotos.
