SKULLBIKERS Fun with peppers in 2021 GLOG

And so it begins, another year of growing some peppers. This will be a sort of continuation of last year

as several of those plants are still going(and many got whacked and ended up on the burn pile). 
 
Anyway, I have 3 trays of peppers sown and many have germinated already(mostly annums). I wanted to compare several different jalapeños for taste in real time. This tray is all jalapeños, ten types from 7 different vendors. The seeds in block 3 are from 2014.

Those pods were all off of one plant, the plant is sparse for foliage but loaded with pods, still many green ones on it. Here's a pic from last Thursday.

And now the tale of the Mucho Nacho Jalapeno. I planted two containers each from three different vendors. Two are growing fairly similar with near the same production but the one lacks sadly in both areas. 
First up are the pods from Seeds & Such seeds/plants.

Next are the pods from Totally Tomatoes seeds/plants.

And last but certainly not least are pods from Reimer Seeds seeds/plants.

At this point I think I would be comfortable buying these seeds from either Reimer Seeds or Seeds & Such, Mucho Nacho will definitely be included in my yearly grow plan along with first year tryout Chichimeca.
Possibly a taste test tomorrow. 
 
A little more about ORANGE JALAPENOS. 
The pepper in the center of the following pic is one of my larger Numex Jalapeno Orange Spice pods, the peppers on either side are my Paquime Jalapeno/Orange that recently revealed their presence in the good ol' pepper patch.

Are those yellow spots on the peppa peach leaves?  I tried zooming in but couldn't tell if it was just the lighting or actual spots.  I had quite a few plants this year with yellow spots and wasn't sure if it was a disease or nutrient problem.    Im still growing some of them out but others got so bad I culled them.  
Hope you like those pods.  As I remember, they were a hit around here.

Yes to the spots, lots of bugs this year to battle. The newest growth doesn't look too bad. I should know in a while but they are slow to ripen, much like the Sugar Rush Peach.
Yes, this was the "year of the jalapeno" to finally decide which varieties NOT to grow again.
