SKULLBIKERS Fun with peppers in 2021 GLOG

And so it begins, another year of growing some peppers. This will be a sort of continuation of last year

as several of those plants are still going(and many got whacked and ended up on the burn pile).

Anyway, I have 3 trays of peppers sown and many have germinated already(mostly annums). I wanted to compare several different jalapeños for taste in real time. This tray is all jalapeños, ten types from 7 different vendors. The seeds in block 3 are from 2014.

Another tray with annums at each end and mostly rocotos in the middle(and they're taking their sweet time).

Wow, what aa great-looking space for your
containers. SB. What is the white material?

Yes, part of the back yard is slowly being transformed into a chili growing area. I removed one tree and a huge amount of "jungle growth" along the property line to open things up a bit. The white material is just landscape fabric I got on Amazon. You can't really use the white by itself as the grass and weeds will grow under it and raise it right up, so the black is underneath to stop weed growth and white on top to reflect sun and reduce heat. Kind of an experiment in progress!

With all that sunshine and white on the ground you most definitely need sunglasses , once you step outside [emoji16]. Doing any Kratky plants this year, eh.

Well, I moved here for the sunshine so all is good!    No Kratky plants this year. I did those four last year to see if I could do them here, so that's covered.

Got a few more containers filled yesterday.
Closest one is Numex Lemon Spice Jalapeno, the three containers behind that are Mucho Nacho Jalapenos with seeds from three different vendors.

I still have a few left to get into containers.

No garden work today, I'm going to the Florida Strawberry Festival today to watch the Strawberry Shortcake Eating Contest!
