LOL
The Steinbeck of drunks...Hope you enjoyed my experiences in Mex..
Travels with Smokemaster...Travels with Takillya...
99.9% of my Mexico part is true.
I paid $2.50 a Kilo for shrimp at the time, sold it for a lot more a LB. in AZ.
I think we ripped people off on the last load,It had a lot of lead in it...
Actually didn't know they were shooting at us until our first delivery when we saw the holes in the back of the U Haul.
We ran the shrimp at night, only saw headlights from a long ways back.
Didn't know it was the Federalies at the time.
Homemade takillya (Mex. Moonshine) was about $2.00 a gal.
Even for a pro,a gal. lasted at least a week.
Pesos were 5000 to the buck, went up to 7000 for a while.
Sold the shrimp, went to goodwills and bought sowing machines and ANYTHING with night rider stuff on it.
Traded it for shrimp...
A sowing machine was worth it's weight in gold to the locals.
One trip was when the Dodgers won the pennant.
Drove into a dead town, sidewalks rolled up.Everything was dead.
All of a sudden people were running out of everywhere yelling and partying.
Fernando I guess was their hero,so the Dodger games were being watched more than Soccer at the time.
People went crazy that night partying.
That was the start/first day I was in Puerto Pansco.
Was drunk from then on for weeks. LOL
Good times were had by all.
To this day, whenever I tell my family I'm going fishing in mexico, they are surprised when I actually come back in 3-5 days.
Whenever I'm gone for a few days they think I'm going back to Puerto Panasco for a month or two.
Even though that was over 20 yrs ago.
It was funny,I was in the Hospital for a month a few years back because of blood clots in my lungs,my family thought I was in mexico again.
By the way, don't mess with homemade Mexican Brandy either.
I can drink the moonshine or the brandy, mix both and you are history for a LONG time.
Both are smooth as silk going down.
Both by themselves kick your butt like a donkey but together you don't have a chance, you will be toilet hugging drunk for a very long time.
Take my word for it,don't mix them.
Also if a local invites you to dinner, accept the invitation .
Best grub you'll ever eat.
Puerto Panasco it was seafood.XLNT stuff - fish,Lobster,Crab ,shrimp and shellfish.
Cooked all different ways.
Tastes so good you will almost break your mouth eating it.
