After looking at how ugly this old shelf looked i went down to the local bunnings to get some wood to make new shelving to match the study furniture .

Now with the timber frame i made for it the light can slide in any one of the two bottom shelves.

Plants look happy and healthy. Cool varieties, especially the Moruga Caramel! Nice!

Hope all is OK with your Daughter.
Hi DocNrock , thanks for the comments mate , yeh i got the caramel from Grant , i think i have 7 plants growing of it and what pods have started they all look that true shape , so far , just hope they ripe to that great caramel colour like on grants photos..

Hey mate Im going alright. Yeah we copped the storms here but luckily my plants are hard up against a western fence so the brunt off the wind didn't really affect my plants. Just had a couple lean a bit but they are good now. My plants are going great thanks for asking. They are in the ground now. I think the potting mix I had was dodge.
Hi lava yeh i saw some pics of your plants they looking good , what soil did u have in the ground?

Your plants are looking good! Hope your daughter is better.

I grew the thai orange in my first season and it overwintered itself into my second disastrous season. Took a whole lot of punishment and kept on going. Your one looks better than mine ever did.

I used up all my seed stock in this year's false starts but I'd love to grow it next season. I spose its a bit early to be thinking about it but would you be up for a seed trade? I've got so many varieties of seeds its ridiculous, anything you are after?
Hello moo , mate that wont be a problem as soon as i pick a few pods and dry the seeds ill get your addy and send you some , there is heaps of pods on the plant so ill have heaps of seeds , make sure you remind me in a few weeks , so i dont forget .. i got the thai orange from Luigi and he also sent me some of his giant white habs that are starting to grow great , im getting some leaf mishapen not sure if its the weather or a calcium def, i have got some calmag from the shop to try .

The soil their in is just sand that I've been adding to for about 4 yrs. Before I planted the chillies I mixed through a barrow load of home made compost. The only thing I've feed them is worm wee.

Looking great Todd. You have no idea how nice it is to see pods in the dead of a Canadian winter. We are expecting 15cm of snow this evening. My how the Aussies took it to Sri Lanka on the first day.... too bad it isn't aired here... :(

That Mustard Hab is a cool pod. I had a few last year that went through the typical " camouflage " yellow and green, then ripened orange.........I saved those seeds...

Looking good bro. Some nice varieties there as well!!
Thanks Trippa, hows the weather over your way?

Hi Pic 1 , mate what was the taste of the pods like, these plants are throwing out alot of pods.

Weather is breezy and a little cooler around 28-29 Degrees C ... meant to be cranking up again Saturday into the 30's. Not bad at all at the moment although Christmas Day was hot (around 33C) and yesterday we had rain all morning which was awesome

Yeh mate its funny only 2 weeks ago we were getting storm after storm and i was trying my hardest to protect the plants from the wind and rain , now its like 40 each day and im trying to protect them now from the heat , oh well as long as they produce pods im happy.

Todd,

Must be a tough life for you Aussies, great weather year round, hot Christmas weather in which to bask in the sun at the pool with way too many beers. Cricket on the television and beautiful women (for the most part...) walking the streets...

*sigh* I just came in from shoveling 10cm of snow from my long driveway. I hate you right now Todd.

Hope all is well buddy,
Conor

LOL Conor , its not that cozy living in oz, i meen having to put sunscreen on all the time when your out in the boat fishing , and belive me there are pretty girls down the beach but its dam hard to see them through binoculars when the boat is moving up and down with the waves.

10 cm of snow , the closest iv been to seeing snow is when the dam freezer needs defrosting , one day ill defrost the freezer and make a small snow man..

Anyway a little pic of the small boat i have .

she might be small but it fits a huge esky in it full of beer and ice.

F yeah. Those 7's look sick!! Nice fat branches on the ol girl too.
Hi Lava, yeh mate i got the yellow 7 seeds from neil 3 years ago and they still produce pods right through winter till you clip them back , and the taste is well you know what yellow are like fruity az.

Not Sure if any one has seen this before but its the first time iv seen it , got it at coles and i quite like it , tabasco habenero sauce.

That yellow 7 looks like it is going really well. One of my favourite plants the yellow 7. Mine is in its second year but is in desperate need to be potted up into a much bigger container and it shows in its current sad state!!.
I have never seen the hab Tabasco sauce. I tend to only use my old bottle of tobasco for cooking or adding to a mixture of smoky BBQ and tomato sauce (master foods) as it makes a great vinergary sauce for fries/chips

Hi Trippa, mate get that yellow 7 potted up so it can reward you with some big juicy fruity pods , as for the hab tabasco sauce i think coles have only just started to stock it , i bought it one day and thought id go back and buy more the next day and they had sold out , so id say with it selling that fast they will get more in.
