My 10 year old is responsible for the artwork on the cups!

Sorry to hear about the demon birds causing you troubles...I would get a big cat (like a jaguar or mountain lion) and let him roam around the backyard. That will scare the birds away.

Also, a week without internet is unacceptable. Period.

Shane, your plants are looking great - tough to be an absentee papa, huh?
The Cali sun is working its magic on your plants judging by the awesome Poblanos!
Loved the Goat's Weed shot, too!

After watching your video, I'm not sure how I feel about eating super hot peppers.
Jamie sent me some nice ones; I'm trying to figure out how to approach them : )
Your powders are really good - looks like a nice new batch!

I don't know which amazes me more, the finches, or the manzano root! Seems like
always something cool going on Poway! BTW, your poolside garden is over the top, my friend!

Have a good week, bro!
Thanks man! The garden is definitely coming along, just waiting on pods  . As far as how to approach them...with extreme caution! First couple I ate were in small pieces with dinner. Give that a shot, but there is really no hiding the heat!

chiiiit man! Great review! I love how you get all Stonewall when the heat is peaking. thats how i feel when im really getting blasted! Plants look awesome, that primo is ridiculous! Yea thats weird with the finches ive never heard of them eating leaves before.
The stonewall is just me unable to speak...which is RARE! I got a bunch that look freaking amazing, but pod set is a problem across the board. Maybe the soil is a little too rich for them??? I sat and watched as those little buggers picked the leaves apart!

Got Mail
thanks shane...will sow them after i transfer some of my peppers in my starter kit to there next home
You're welcome brother! Don't know which of them grow true??? I have some from seed, but they are all still small. The plants were a gift, so no telling if they're a hybrid. We shall see!

Me either... Finches are mostly seed eaters, but I guess they have to eat something in the spring. I've noticed that they eat Dandelion seeds, but if everybody wants a perfect lawn and digs them up it leaves the finches with nothing to eat. Somehow, I don't think your neighbors would let their Dandelions grow to help you out... Lovin' the scenery in pots around your pool man. It must be nice to have cool water next to your insanely hot plants!
Never would have imagined, I went over each plant top to bottom looking for some sort of caterpillar. The pool does act as a nice heat sinc...a little cooler by day and warmer by night.

Well here is my next addition to the pepper reviews...Brain Strain. Try to ignore the daughter's boyfriends dad, he means well but don't think he fully understood what I was going through. Once again...the window toss came to mind. Here it is.
Hope you enjoyed! Pepper had me fooled again...thinking back to the first one the same thing happened. I ate half and thought "That wasn't that bad!" then immediately ate the other half and then spent the next 2 days dealing with side effects.

Thanks for looking in folks! Have a great week, I am off to the land of no bandwidth for the week!

Another great review with a great pod shots I am barely starting to get pods on my supers hopefully the fatalii or yellow bhut (lost the sign :banghead: )begin to ripen I will send that out asap I will try to find some time to make an update. The Butch T are coming man found one baby pod I think have to recheck so hopefully they can be knocking at your door soon.

Anyway, the bell looks great its freakin HUGE! And those pablonos look Yummy! I had an opertunity to get some Goat Weed and passed on it, think I'll be regretting that one for a little bit. Ohwell, I'll know for next time :) great update, I'll checkout the video after I get some sleep (just got home from at 3)

Luckily they're only hitting the sunflowers. Doesn't appear to be slowing them down either. Just really wanted to make sure there weren't some sort of caterpillars on them that may migrate to the peppers. If they start hitting the pepper plants I will take action!

Shane, you might want to edit about the top of the page thing, MG stole it again
Saw that! Maybe I'll get the next one.

Can't wait! Lol...that one was painful, and once again the peanut gallery wasn't helping. Hope to come home to some baby chinenses this week myself. They're all flowering like crazy now, so its just a waiting game.

Momma wants me to pick it now...but I wanna wait and see the color.(think its yellow) I planted seeds out of the multi-color pack. I have one that I think will be purple getting some size to it as well. I have 4 plants and they're all loading up, so it'll be cool to watch them ripen. The Goat's Weed is a favorite. I have 4 plants, but 2 are looking kinda sickly. Been waiting to see if they'll pull out of their funk, just hope they don't infect their neighbors with whatever they have. I will have ripe pods shortly, and I have seeds in the fridge, so lemme know if you want some.

Shane.. - Carib RED.. i took off the bigger leaves off.. and it seems to be pulling out of its funk...everything is doing well.. the GDO is slow.. only 2-3 flowers... no pods setting... thanks for the million and one manzano seeds.. will go great with the train...

as for the little guy...ive got at least one of my one explosive embers i got from the donation train and it germed in 3 days with the aero (loving it) so i dont think its critical you send the little one you have.. but if you must then.. all plants have a home here...

that one big manzano i got is from arboretum, the one you got me has buds but no flowers yet... btw the pod is about thumbnail size

cant wait to do my own pod reviews.. definately will have to start off with the 30,000-100,000 SHU... and love your backyard too.. wish i had a chance to take a look when i was there.. im sure ill get my chance as we go there like 3-4months... im sure by then ill have pods from your plants

haha battery acid - people say they actually like the flavor of these... If it tastes like Battery acid, I think I'll pass lol (at least fresh and whole, maybe mixed into something). have fun living life unplugged next week.

First of all I can't believe you have drank battery acid

Second I thought I had already sent you a chocolate bhut . Damn it . Well in about a month I will send you some so you can love me and hate me some more. :hot:

And last I am so thankful hot peppers don't give me the hiccups ;)

Great reveiw thanks for sharing!

Never tasted battery acid...but I did drink paint thinner as a kid. The reference wasn't about the taste, but more the burn! I should have some choco bhuts setting soon I hope, got 3 plants covered in flowers. Scorpions are a little slow, they have a ton of buds and will start flowering this week along with my standard bhuts. Thanks again for the pods! Meant to bring the rest up here to my barracks, but forgot them in the fridge. Will be home wednesday will pick them up then. Can't wait to try the Aji!

I was just messing with ya Shane. I know what you mean. I rarley eat them fresh anymore. But I did make a nice salsa yesterday out of a few brains and barrackpores. :hotsauce:

You will love the aji lemon. It is super tasty pepper. I bet you could make a mean smoked powder out of some. :mouthonfire:

Hey Shane I just got your pkg! Thanks! That smoked jal power is good, but the manzanos are FREAKIN AMAZIN! Such a great flavor. It doesn't have too much heat, but it has a great flavor. I can't wait to try it on...EVERYTHING!

I can't keep enough of that stuff in the house! I may toy with adding some heat for a big boy version once I find a super that I think will make a good mate. Thinking a yellow 7 or chocolate bhut might be a good match. We'll see once I have a few chinenses to play with.

Wow man. You got big things going on. Nice plants!
Yeah my grow started off kinda modest then BAM!!! Griff sent me seeds, then gunslinger and me worked a trade...a seed train pulled in a couple times, MJDiamond sent some seeds...pods started showing up from Fernando and Jamie! Now its just plain anarchy! Plants are making me pretty happy right now. Little anxious for some that are being fickle, but they're starting to come around. One variety after another is finally starting to show me some love. Thanks for checking in everbody!

I put it on everything. Does best on meats, eggs and soups. A spoonful sprinkled on a buger is my favorite! Don't do much cooking with it, we add it at the table. We have 4 favorite powders/flakes that we keep in shakers.

Tried the powder on burger idea tonight with ChileFreak Mexican Pepper Powder.
It was really good, but I didn't put enough on!
Plus I found out the Venetian Habanero I ate yesterday was a Red 7.

Its not bad sprinkled on top of a salad either, or after you put mayo on something... or butter... or or or or or...

I keep a bottle of the stuff out and use it as much or more than I use salt and pepper :)

Wow...giving the first person to post a response top of page 38!!!

Was gone all week and came home to some drastically changed plants. I have my first "super" pod to set. Not sure exactly how super it is yet but first to set a pod is....
P1010353.jpg

Purple Bhut...this dude is loading up for me! I hear they're no where near as hot as the real deal, but they sure are cool plants to look at...

My Aji Omnicolor has dropped what seems like hundreds of blooms...and is probably pretty close. Came back to find a few had finally set!
P1010351.jpg

Omnicolor in one of the green military container/planters. It is a jungle in there. the frog was clearly visible looking at this planter last week. It is now completely overgrown...lol. May have overdone it with the # of plants I put in there. Sure is gonna be a fun mess to look at!

P1010348.jpg

Piquin Chiapas...this dude set a pod on one of its very first blooms...then dropped everything for almost a month straight. Finally starting to put on some pods. Hopefully both Pequin plants will be covered up in a couple weeks.

P1010352.jpg

Monster Infinity starting to show off a bit. They appear to have pollen, hope some set!

P1010363.jpg

Here is the Monster Infinity (rt) and Brain Strain (lft)

P1010356.jpg

Double Bhut bloom opening. Would be really cool to get a crazy pod out of this...will probably drop, but fingers crossed!

P1010355.jpg

Another angle same bloom...s

P1010357.jpg

Looks like 2 of the bell plants are gonna be purples!

P1010359.jpg

Think I am done shopping for tomatoes for a while. Been pulling 1-2 a day for a bit...looks like they are about to bury me in ripe ones any day. I have 3 cherry tomato (supersweet vf100) over 6ft tall and LOADED top to bottom!!!

P1010360.jpg

Also about time for some of the big ones! (Jet Star Hybrid)

Out of pics for now...will post more later or tomorrow. I may actually do another video walk through of the garden tomorrow??? I have been a little sparse on updates for a while, but I have a 4 day weekend  ...

Remember what this weekend is really about. All gave some, some gave all.

Shane
