I agree with Jamie on that Primo shot. Once that thing starts changing colors it is gonna be a contender for the gnarliest pod of the year. Hmmmm....that is getting me thinking.....
Anyways, that is crazy about your Infinty... I'll send you some seeds out of mine so you can give em a shot next season. Mine look wrinkly and 7pot-ish, haven't turned, but starting to get a tint of red. What is the source? I got mine from Wouter (Mido/peppersRus.com) and they are turning out like his are. But at least it has a killer taste to it!
Have maybe 2 dozen of those mean looking little pods on the plant now. Every one of them looks evil!
Got 3 seeds from Dave (gnslnger). Planted 2 only 1 germinated and I gave the other seed away. so this one is it! What't really crazy is the difference in pods on this plant. Some long and Bhutish some stubby and Habish some gnarly and Brainish and several that are a combination....here are some pics.
Wouldn't surprise me to see different color pods! Well...yeah it would but you know what I mean. One thin is certain...
Whatever color they turn out...this plant is a rock star! Check out the node on the lower center far side! One cool plant!
Right next door is another rock star...
My Brain! Really kickin' them out! Some look to be close to shifting colors. So within a week or two I will be able to finally get a taste of my own brain!
Patrick if you're reading this look away now! Was giving the almost dead lawn a dose of old school ferts today...of the smelly variety and this guy decided to check things out...
Tarantula Hawk...This lady was a couple inches long. Freaking HUGE! I grew up around these things, but I rarely see them here. I do see a ton of tarantulas so wasn't too surprised to see this one. Very rare that they actually sting anyone, but when they do it is very paiful...
These things sting their prey (tarantulas) and then pick them up and fly back to their nest. Their sting only paralyzes the spider and once back at their lair...they lay an egg on the victim which is then eaten from the inside out by the wasp larvae. Crazy world!
Here's some more info on these crazy predators...

Some 4th BBQ picks to wrap things up...
Nothing fancy today...Some burgers with fresh roasted corn and green chiles...burgers not pictured.
Forgot who asked about how to roast and peel chiles...basically roast them on all sides till they look about like this, then throw them in a plastic baggie while still hot to simmer in their own steam for a bit. After about 15 minutes I throw them in ice water then peel.
I like the butterfly pics. And those pumpkins! Did you put them inside something to get that shape?
I was thinking of trying a square pumpkin by putting them in 12" x 12" forms like they are doing with watermelons now days.
MineCraft Pumpkins FTW!
Lol my son is on Minecraft all day every day! These guys just grow like that. No box necessary! Might try the box with my watermelons though!
Awesome butterfly pics, those things are amazing. Just the fact that they migrate is kind of crazy. The place we've vacationed the last several years in the Upper Peninsula is a migration point for them, so there are usually tons of them around.
I enjoy them...they are fun to watch as they pollinate my plants! They do have an amazing journey...incredible how something so fragile can endure a journey like that!
Thanks for looking in! Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July...
