It was a great shop. It had a great vibe. I was the only person inside the entire time. The guy making my sandwich was super nice and attentive. We chatted pretty much the whole time.

I had the same exact experience.   Their location isn't exactly great for street traffic.   i bet if that place was in a different location it would be packed.

I was kind of shocked it wasn't more busy being as good as it is. I went around 1:00pm I think. There were tons of people out getting lunch at other places....like pret a mangier...they all had lines out the door.
I also went to yonah schimmel's knish bakery. That was pretty quiet too.

I imagine it's not a business lunch place. Casual lunch is later in the afternoon... it's NYC, lunch at 4, dinner at 10, lol. Unless working, then you want fast and normal hours.

Yeah you're right. All the major cities I've had the privilege of traveling to, with the exception of Boston and Seattle all have very late laidback lunches. Europe especially.
