food The Drunken Chef

Pauly, I think that jar is the sugar syrup off of the candied habaneros I made last fall. I stuffed the jars of candied habs full of the habs and had that wonderful simple syrup left over and knew it would be good for something. I though maybe in a mixed drink, but in the Asian? That was an AWESOME idea! And that meal?!? OMG! That's it, I'm quitting the Asian TD. Not even gonna enter.

home-made pizza, coming up tonight!

YAY PIZZA!!!!!

Going to Tim's tonight....It's his 50th birthday and I promised him a lot of rude drinking.....

Syrup from the candied habs, eh? I'm sure you told me that....but I promptly forgot it. So, I was standing in my pantry....looking for stuff to make a makeshift stirfry (that was all on-hand ingredients, by the way!) and I picked up that 1/2 jar of amber liquid you sent me.

I opened it and stuck my finger in...

Sweet and.........BING! .....THERE'S the heat! :woohoo:

"That'll go great with the carmelized pineapple!"......and it did.

THANK YOU!!!!

TB done done it again!!

Good news everybody...Busch light tallboys now have an "ice cold easy indicator" right on the can, so you know when it tastes bad.

A little sour cream/hab sauce topped this baby but was so good it didn't need it. Embarrassed to say I ate all 4 halves. Okay I'm not. This stuff was Killermanjaro!!

Holy Moly TB, that's killer. Hope the cream was minimal and you only ate one.

I must have missed the label on that one. OOPS! Now I have inspiration of what to do with the hot syrup.

Happy B-day to Tim, and no pizza tonight. The boys ate a late lunch after the soccer game, so it's PEPPERONI POPPERS!

gotta go get 'em out of the oven~~~~

posting pics later

I pre-cooked the pepperoni slivers ( aka rendered out all the grease~) mixed it with 4 oz cream cheese, minced onions that I micro-ed for 44 seconds to cook/soften, chile de arbol powder and generic shredded Mexican cheese blend. Into the oven for 20 +/- minutes-

added some sharp cheddar cheese and a sprinkle of red chile blend powder-

GONE!

thanks, LC-
this was our first official family popper snack. Verdict- pretty good, could be hotter, even with the dried chile mixed in and sprinkled on top.

We would LOVE to try the same recipe with some Lemon Drop. Bulgarian Carrot or a couple other medium heat, nicely ripe chiles! Definitely got the green jalapeno flavor and cooking off the pepperoni was a good call.

:woohoo: :woohoo:

I'll spare y'all the agony of inserting the Genesis video link to "You're the Inspiration"

and I know,
yes I know,
that our love was meant to be~~~~

....woke up in an alien world this morning (otherwise known as Tim's sofa).....so those popers are a welcome sight!

TB....where's da crab cakes?

TB - Those stuffed peppers looked awesome!

SL - Bacon poppers....yummmmmy! Gonna have to make those for breakfast!

Edit...sorry SL...just saw what I wrote this morning, I said Bacon poppers...and meant pepperoni! Sorry long Easter morning and I was hungry for bacon. gesh!

More research going on here. Working on another review. This weekend cheesesteaks and pork chops get the sauce.
