I don't know who won, Quad led off nicely and is currently planning some sort of madness. Paul seriously BROUGHT it with that alfredo chicken toast. Sum would have gotten my vote with the chimichurri, but he had no toast. I did my best with TB's smoked salmon on toasts, and my quesadilla. We'll have to see who wins this pretend throwdown. Still waiting for TB to reappear.

I'm gone for a bit & come back to see all of you posted some damn tasty looking meals!!!!!!!!!!
I'm drooling looking at the pics, I hate ya - cuz its sunday morning & I'm hungry

Ok with all this madness going on tonight you have forced me to fire up the JayT kitchen. Right now there is some ooey gooey melty bhuty quesadilla goodness going on. But in the meantime, I want to share something I have been holding on to for a little while. You see my friend TB sent me a little carepackage a short time ago and I made some goodies with it. Here are the pics and a big thank you to TB Salmon Smoker of the Gods.

That last pic....I'm getting verklempt....brings a tear to my eyes. I need a kleenex. I'm overwhelmed by the hotnessess and mojofication of 'dat pure gold smoked salmon toast. HOT, BLUE, AND RIGHTEOUSNESSESS!!!

ah yes, the mayhem and chaos continues in teh Blues Kitchen sportsfans! I had some lovely salmon and king crab. (mrs. blues lovingly donated it back to me). i decided I'd commit one of the worst atrocities and sins against mankind by deepfrying the salmon and crab together in a chimmichanga. NOBODY DEEPFRIES KING CRAB!! At least no self respecting Alaskan.

I started a cast iron hotness going with canola oil, garlic, onion, pequins, red bell and 'peno. Saute'd till clear, then added the salmon. Cooked that to about medium and removed and set aside. It'll keep cooking on the plate a bit more and will finish in the deep fryer. Never EVER overcook salmon.

While the dutch was heating up teh oil, I deglazed the pan with white wine, and added some mae ploy and heavy cream. Brought to a simmer and reduced. Then I got some room temp tortilla's and broke up the salmon and yum yums and teh king crab and rolled up the chimmi's. Since the ingredients are pretty wet, I use a little butcher's string to tie them off at the ends to keep the yum yums from oozing out.

Once out of teh fryer, onto a plate with the sweet chile cream sauce. I let it cool a little bit and then got my mojo workin'. How was it? Pure SEX ON A PLATE!! JayT can attest to the goodness of the chile sauce and combined with the salmon and king crabness....unfunkingbelievable ya'll!!

Here's teh piccy's...

Soooo fresh.

Happy Sunday peeps. For some strange reason I woke up early thinking about toast.

Let us pray:
Not quite sure what's gonna happen next. Anything can happen after the first Chelada, and most likely it will be good. Amen.

Holy Christ on a Unicycle!!! Even the Romanian judge gave you a perfect 10 on that one TB. I will be making a similar attempt to that this week with CANNED crab meat. You know they now have a picture of you in post offices all over Alaska. You have been banned from the state. Looks like it may have been worth it though. Outstanding!

We will have to ask the judges though if tortillas count as toast though...

TB - looks very tasty! & now I'm so hungry that I need to make my venison loin burger. pics to come later & yes beer is involved! also gotta watch some football.

I dunno about the toast 'thang. I thought of doing up blue crab ala maryland crab cakes but use it in the chimmi's, but the mega powah of the king crab pulled me in like a tractor beam and demanded to be fried. Whatcha' got brewin' in your noggin for 'dem dere blue crab?

Not sure yet, those chiimis you just made look really damn good. Mrs. JayT really liked the shrimp and crab cakes I made last time though. We'll see. The toast thing was proclaimed by THP last night. I think he called it toast wars.

Here's a toast entry I like to call "Definitely Had One Too Many Cheladas". I starts off with a few parameters.

1) What is mildly reasonable to put on toast?
2) What has been in my fridge for over two weeks and not been touched?
3) How many Cheladas have I had already and is another one advisable?
4) Make sure some type of protein and some type of cheese top the food pyramid.

SHAZAAM! Perfectly golden-brown 12 grain toast topped with Colby/Jack cheesy smooth grits with fried thin sliced ham peppered to taste and some star fruit on the side for flavor contrast.
