We did the Chicago river architecture boat tour that day. Rawk's artistic expression is one of a nautical theme... "shit is sliding off the table 'cause I'm on a boat, bitch" I think is what she uttered whilst snapping that last pic.

True Story.

get yer eyes ready for crooked pics.  Today Sam's tummy wants a break and my head is tired, so it will be a little light on the commentary. This first set of pics is a lil late... my apologies.

Porcini risotto with skirt steak.
Start by making broth and sautéing the shrooms

open bottle of white wine, use half glass to toast rice, drink remaining wine while Sum stirs in broth (for an hour, as I drunkenly critique his not so italian stirring methods).

This post will pale in comparison and I forgot to take pictures but cook some homegrown onion and garlic in a little olive oil, add homegrown tomatoes, basil, red jalapeno, salt, and a little vodka and simmer.  Toss some linguini in some boiling water and you get something like this:

Toss some french bread under the broiler with some asagio, provolone, parmesan, romano, mozzarella, basil, garlic, salt and you end up with something like this:

Lacking in photos and details but it was pretty good.

So tonight I made some pasta and vegetables in a garlicky olive oil sauce.  Ingredients: (not pictured fresh basil, hot thai pepper, salt, black pepper... no french bread at store?! so had to settle for the "submarine rolls")

Sauteed a lot of garlic in olive oil, then added a little water, salt, carrots, jalapenos, broccoli, celery, and getting ready to add mushrooms:

mushrooms are in.  pasta is boiling.  bread is brushed with olive oil, sprinkled with garlic powder, basil, and a dash of salt and tossed under broiler:

Pasta is tossed into veggies a little undercooked along with some fresh ground black pepper and left covered to absorb moisture.  Toss in some grated parmesan and it's like dinner has arrived:
