food The Drunken Chef

I'm going to say it was probably from the residual spices that the crawfish tails were cooked in before packaging.

That sounds reasonable...;)

damn Paulky...looks to me like you left the best part of the crawfish on the plate unconsumed...you don't eat the lungs, suck the head, and eat the claws too?

whenever I eat crawfish (read about 60 times a year), most of the waitresses have said it looks like a bunch of coons were eating them....nothing left but crushed shells

LOL!!! Great stuff!

Naw....we had 10 pounds of the little buggers....so we went for the easy parts. ;)

Nice choice on the Russian Standard paulky_2000. I've travelled through parts of Russia and have tried more than a few different vodka's in that time and I gotta say Russian Standard is my favorite. I would bring it back on each of my trips to Russia as well as when I'd find it in the US. It was kinda hard to come by and I don't care for any of the Smirnoff line. I find it tastes like rubbing alcohol. Finlandia isn't too bad either. Luckily one of the liquor stores here in town has started carrying Russian Standard at reasonable prices. It makes me happy :)

I agree. It's well worth the extra $$$ for the good stuff. You can taste where your money went!

I can tolerate bitter beer face with the cheap crappy beer because the goal is to get the job done, but I can't stand the shitty aftertaste of cheap vodka. Why put yourself through that

Are you a mix or shot kinda guy? I tend to do both, but more often go with mixed drinks. Virtually all the Russian's I came across would do just straight up shots. They just couldn't seem to get used to mixed drinks. It was kinda funny considering some would take a shot of vodka, hold it in their mouth, then take a drink of orange juice . Just mix it already!

Holy Johnny Cracked Corn on a Crutch!! Mudbugs, stuffed crab, and chowdah'. I don't normally dish out the H, B & R for store bought items like the stuffed crab, but the whole mudbug 'thang saves it most honorably Paul. Nuthin' but hot, blue, and righteous! .....and it looks like the kitchen sustained no reversible damage from the mayhem and chaos of the alcohol fueled bugdown. Amazing!

Thank you sir!

The crab cakes and stuffed crabs did nothing to improve the meal, I can tell you.....very forgettable! But everything else....PERFECT!

The only damage was to my liver...;)

The local joint today had a mess of cooked bugs....I almost went for 'em but alas, no. I opted for two other shellfish for tonights chaos and mayhem. Gotta' go powerwalk the bluesdawg' missylou first and then it's......hoskytime!!

I have some more of those naga pineapple ribs cooking right now. They were so good the other day that I decided I needed some more. I don't know when yet, but either tonight or tomorrow there will be some poppers. Oh and TB I didn't forget about the venison fajitas either. Either tomorrow or Sunday probably tomorrow.

Tails are from either Aussieland, NZ, or chilean...I dunno...but $5 apiece. Can't beat that. The shrimp were cheap too!

Don't looks like aussie tails, besides our tails here are four feet long  Hay can you get tiger prawns in the desert TB? They rock my world.

Yeah, I think the lobster is chilean. Aussie and NZ tails run quite it bit more expensive. I almost bought some nice tiger prawns today but they wanted $19.99 a pound. I got both the tails and the 13/15's for less than $15.00.

Wow $19.00 a pound is out there, i paid around $12.50 a pound just yesterday for absolutely beautiful tigers.
Salmon later on in teh bhut sauce, didn't do it last night as was too piss drunk to even move, my head hurts...
