Of course!!  I just cheat and use prego every once in a while. 
 
I make sauce exactly the way that Scott Conant used to make his at his restaurant Scarpetta.
 
Make a tea out of garlic, olive oil, red pepper flakes, and basil then blanch my tomatoes in boiling water.  Peel and deseed the tomatoes and add all the guts to a pot.  Strain the oil tea and add it to the sauce.  Cook for a while.  Cook pasta al dente and throw it in a sauce pan along with a helping of pasta and some pasta water.  Toss the pasta together with the sauce so that it becomes aerated and thickens up.  Serve.
