I have seen them bad out west in the red center when i lived out there working in the gold mines but they never made it to the coast like this.
Aparently New Zealand is about to get hit wit hthe dust storm.......... its going that far.
They are saying it will stain the glaciers and be recorded as history for at least 60 years till they melt completly

I've been in a total whiteout before...a very weird and disorienting feeling...zero sense of direction or space at all except hearing/feeling the wind and cold snow.
But, that was snow.

This was a pic I took in the Dust storm yesterday morning.
This is the same spot today at the same time of the morning..
When I got home yesterday there was a fine layer of red dust all though my house...
and luckily all of my plants survived with only minor bruising....
We are apparently going to get more of the same on Sunday but not as bad....
