Having done that, that's why I couldn't vote for it. Not a ton of options without power, though ...

My hardest vote was non-beef, I loved your burger. I also loved the machego pork. I don't bs, the others were easier for me as I had a real fave. But sometimes I let the indecision keep me from voting but from all the hard work I decided I MUST vote... and the Iberian flavors won me over.

yeah those photos where just in the general thread and more for fun on one, the power finally came back on and i toasted them in the pan. regardless the photo you speak of wasn't in the final presentation photo, and I thought that is what we are voting on? i mean you would probably defend that bag of squid piss or whatever if someone says that is the whole reason they wouldn't vote for yours, since you mention from time to time about how you adhere strictly to voting requirements. seems a bit inconsistent? but you are right at the time the power was out and it was still pouring like mad d/t that tropical storm so yeah wasn't much options and it seemed funny.

Note this photo was not included in the final presentation but I did take before the power came back on so I had to have it. Didn't know the power was just about to come back on. Note the uneven cooked cheese layer because it wasn't cooked long enough on the griddle as again the power went out. Note the complete lack of any colour on the cut sides of the bun because trying to torch it was not successful. Note how lit up it was, this was from holding a light on it while trying to take the photo with a flash.

Cool, don't know you tons yet and I thought you were just trying to be like Kevin the Goat lol  yeah everything i made was from scratch as well, minus of course the manchego, and the ground spices, and butchering the pig, or growing the lettuce (way to hot here and I keep killing it), oh and the olives, plus i didn't make the mayonnaise it was helmans, lets not forget the butter in the roll i didn't make that either. ok so mine wasn't from scratch across the board i suppose

1) i vote with more emphasis on what i see in the pictures, and ...
b) i'm not very consistent ...

see what i did there? ...

honestly, i'm partial to Asian, and i know from quite a number of posts that JHP rocks the Asian hard, and often ... beef and broccoli, pork belly, tuna, asian slaws and pickles, and i'm a user of his Asian powders, the c. indonesian, and thai's ...

in terms of your dish, for me, it had lots of things i'm not very familiar with - portugese rolls, spanish olives, and manchego ... along with a couple of things i'm not a fan of, allspice and ground pork patties ...

you might have seen where i was swimming in defrosted pork short-rib, and that it would have been convenient to have made mine in that - but i've never had a pork burger that moved me ...

feel better, though ... it sucks when it's not fun.
