What are you packin'?

Your personal defense weapon should be as large and as powerful as you can shoot accurately and carry with a reasonable degree of comfort and concealment.
Your personal defense weapon should fit your hand perfectly.
You should be able to manipulate the controls of your weapon with either hand alone.
Your personal defense weapon should be of sturdy construction and be able to withstand heavy use and rough handling.
Your personal defense weapon should be accurate enough to consistently hit a target the size of a saucer at 10 yards quickly.
Select the largest caliber you can shoot well, and a caliber for which ammunition is readily available.
A good quality holster must be available for the model of pistol you intend to carry.

JESUS DICK!!! Is that what I think it is!!!! Did you have to go out to arizona to purchase that sucker?!?!

Yes it is, however it gets much better than that.......

Too bad that down here no matter what you own you'll have a very hard time finding ammo for it.......these people are freaking out here and buying up every bit of ammo they can find.

I own the same gun that was issued by the Florida Game and Freshwater Fish Commission in 1981 when I was a game warden...model 686 S&W 357 Mag...4" stainless...have had it for over 25 years...reliable, safe, and accurate at 50 yds...I use 158 grain semijacket hollow points in it...this is the same combination I carried as a wildlife officer...

Its the only pistol I own...other stock is 12 gauge remington, 12 gauge ultimag mossburg (3.5" shells), model 94 30-30, 22 remington for plinkin', and a remington 30-06...

of all the guns I own, the 686 is my personal choice for self protection...

I hear ya' AJ on the 686. I know lots of guys who scoped those. I feel the same as you about the model 19 which felt better in my hands with Pacheyer's. It also came magnaported although I didn't think it was necessary which I find only stubby's really need it in high power short barreled cannons....like a Casull. I'd like to get another 19 in either a 4" or 6" barrel in nickel.
Lately there's been a run on ammo round these parts as everyone's thinkin' Obama won't go after the guns....just the ammo.

Cheers, TB.

I have some B*B and pellet guns. :P:lol: That's about all I am comfortable owning in NJ/NY. Up here the government is pulling for the criminals.

Yeah, but he's a firearms instructor.

I can't get a CWP, and what's the point of having a gun you can't carry?

"Hold on mr mugger, while I go home and get my gun..." Pfft.

Milwaukee's police chief said he'll go on telling his officers to take down anyone with a firearm despite Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen's finding that people can carry guns openly if they do it peacefully.

I imagine of ya did that here, you'd be shot first then questioned later... ;)

Hell, we had an off-duty officer shoot a guy because he was drunk and thought the dood was stealing his car.
