Looking good Chris.  We saw nothing this past weekend, hopefully our luck changes this weekend.
I saw 8 but two that I could have shot were not on our land so I passed on them at 50 yards. My brother hunted last night and our monster buck has returned to the farm! I sure hope he and I meet this season.

Venison jerky in the making...

My brother shot this deer this past weekend, I had it at 200 yards but passed and instead texted my brother and proceeded to push the deer to him. He had the deer come right to him and stopped it cold with a bleet then the smokepole did the work.

Fried with onions and some LDHS for dipping.

I normally don't "like" anything with onions in it, but fresh Venison is awesome.

Tell us some more about the kill:  What kind of rifle? What caliber ammo?  How many points was the buck?

Jerky all done...

It was last light so nothing special, turned out to be a spike. We mainly hunt with black powder even though it is shotgun season now so it was killed with .50 cal. Headed back into the woods tomorrow for 3 days and hope to finally get a few monsters in my scope now that they have returned to farm post rut!

Good luck this weekend Chris, I am heading up tomorrow morning. Our rifle season opens Monday morning. If I have any luck, we can do a jerky exchange, I make some kickazz HOT venison jerky.

Good luck JayT. We are hunting in NY now and has been real quiet. Crazy warm weather too, 60's today.

in the picture with all the fish together, top to bottom: lionfish (biggest i've ever seen, big invasive species threat to reefs around the world), 2 large grunts,  a really big rock hind grouper (they are usually small, same thing with the next grouper), strawberry grouper, glass eye snapper, cero mackerel
