Wild in Las Vegas 2014 (Hardening off and flowers!!)

So now it's time to make another attempt and hope for a better year.

I didn't want to make a glog this year... but I see many already started. That motivates me to make a glog.

2013 was a year for learning and making mistakes and mostly experiments. Needless to say I found and learned a lot and I know this year is gonna rock!

So let's get started with some pics, and I'll update with th list later today and I'll be visiting glogs in a short while ;) and here's to 2014!!!

My 2 blue mystery plants are looking horrible right now... Like you said your leaves were curling upward, thinking if i move em under the T8's they will settle down some...

I was just thinking about that. I saw your pics of you galapagoense doing the same. Mine were getting rolled up like a taco under the T5's. Now it's much better. Looks like it slowed down a bit but it wants to branch out, so that's good with me.

I'm sorting out the seeds I want to start sowing. I just need to get your seeds and it's time to juice! ;)

Got me thinking about what you had said earlier about the pods from the train... At the time i had it i was the only one that put actual pods in there.. You got yourself some of the Blue mystery pods huh? How many were left in it when you got it?

I'm not sure but I think there were like 10 pods or so in there when I got it and I took 3 for myself and I have no idea how many seeds there is, I haven't checked yet. Still plenty for the next riders.

How many did you pack in the train? Didn't look like anyone were interested in those idk.

-Walt

Packed the ziplock baggie full so possibly 20 or so can fit in there i think... But double check the pods you gpt from it and see how many seeds you get from each... If its not much let me know, i still have some more pods

Ok, I crushed the pods and it looks like about 20 seeds or so. So it's ok, Thanks. I want to get like 3 plants if I can to see any variance. It's very interesting.

Here's a pic of my galapagoense, you can see the leaves kinda straight or slightly curled downwards.

with the right proportion of red and blue LED, you get much more close to the spectrum of light required by plants.

bump my friend!
Thanks Jason! :D.

Cobincho ( C. Chacoense) or also known as Capsicum Exile? This one is a "Take your sweet time to grow pepper" the slowest I have ever seen, but it's growing ;).

CGN 20510 - C. Chacoense.

And some others I'm growing.

Bhut Orange Copenhagen. (ChiliRiot).

Rocoto mystery. Only one under the LEDs and looking better than the ones under fluoros.

Bhut jolokia purple. (ChiliRiot)

Pimenta da Neyde (Chris Phillips)

Texas black, this one I can't find info on. I searched and found a post where "Smokemaster" says it's like a black tepin, and this one is from his seed. I did saw a few seedlings a cousin of mine grew but never went back to see them and the plants look the same as the yellow tepin but with black foliage. This one I'm very excited about.

Ok one more bump? Bump patrol? Lol.

It might be a tepin Pima bajo or black chiltepin
Idk, knowing how Mike takes care of his stuff I trust him. I got the seeds from Bonnie's swap last year and they came in the original baggie. I also have west virginia pea from him. Idk, might have to ask him. I'm very excited tho :D.

And thanks for the bump!

Bubblegum 7 pot (Denniz)

Chocolate Brainstrain.

Rocoto Guatemalan orange. (Justecila)

These last two are in a hydro rig... I'm giving up on it because I'm tired to death to be battling the friggin slime. So these are going in the soil hopefully tonight after I sow or tomorrow.

Cumari pollux. (Spicegeist)

Aribibi gusano (ChiliRiot).

Thank you all for stopping by and hope you all have a warm weekend!! :fireball:

When the time comes put me down for a pod or two of your wilds... Looks like you going to be better off on the grow... Still trying to get some of Charles seeds to pop... Nearly a month now for the tepins n some of the crosses...

For sure I will. Do you soak your seeds? Or straight sow?

I always soak in chamomile tea and even the chacoense has taken like 2-3 weeks and not like most say (over a month), but who knows.

Those eximium I sent you took 6 days to pop. Super fast, I was shocked and so far the eximium hold the record for the fastest. The first galapagoense took exactly 12 days after I sowed it. I say the tea in general helps them germinate faster.

Small update,

I guess I'm going to pot up a few that are developing nice roots

First off my hydro experiment is now shut down. I got tired of battling bacteria and now it's soil time. So far they look nice and developing nice roots.

Here's were they stand.

Tepin X 7 pot barrackpore F2.

Aribibi gusano.

So far all are still growing nicely. I'm impressed on how fast the Eximium grow and how hardy they seem to be. I only killed one trying to make it grow in the hydro rig but all are doing good.

Eximiums.

CGN 24332. The leaf shape and the way it's branching out is just nice.

CGN 24332. Finally stretching, this was the stumpy one.

CGN 19198. I LOVE this one. The very well defined veins make this one look sexy :D.

CAP 501 - C. Chacoense. Now growing a bit faster. I love those shiny leaves with thay unique green color ;).

Little galapagoense keeps growing and growing :D.

Still have more.

-Walt

Awesome! Post 'em if you're still up brotha!

Thanks Shane!

Cumari pollux. Thanks Charles for sharing this species with me. It was the first wild type I received.

Tepin X 7 pot barrackpore F2. Another one I have going and this one definitely looks annum, just looking at the cotyledons and leaf shape. Interesting...

Pube love? :D. Most of my rocotos are developing true leaves but this one is already getting the second set. I don't know what it is, I mixed it up LOL.

Up close and personal.

Pink tiger.

Bhut Orange Copenhagen.

Super red BB7 (Denniz)
